Is Benefit BADgal BANG! Really Out of This World?

By now we’ve all heard about Benefit’s exciting new launch – the BADgal BANG! Mascara. I’m a big fan of Benefit’s previous mascara launches, particularly the They’re Real mascara which is one of my all-time favourite mascaras, so I was looking forward to giving the new BADgal BANG! mascara a go.

Does this mascara really live up to all the hype that has surrounded its launch?

Firstly, can we all agree on just how cool the packaging looks?! Pink, black and with a studded top, the packaging is definitely a WINNER!

The main selling point of the BADgal BANG! mascara is that it promises to give you an impressive 36 hours of full-blast volume. Personally, I wear my mascara for around 8-10 hours a day, but I have seen some YouTubers test out the mascara for a full 36 hours and it seemed to do pretty well, so my expectations for this mascara were high.

The mascara wand is plastic, just like Benefit’s other mascaras. Although I normally prefer a natural bristle brush to a plastic wand, Benefit mascaras seem to be an exception as they somehow work really well with my lashes (naturally quite long but lacking volume). The BADgal BANG! mascara features a new brush by Benefit that contains 300 soft half cone-shaped bristles to maximise the product deposit on each lash, thereby increasing the volume. It also contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials that is derived from space technology, in order to avoid weighing the lashes down with the volume.

The formula itself is designed to layer on easily for bigger lashes and is smudge-proof, flake-free and water-resistant so it should well and truly last all day.[/pipdig_padded_text]

So, how did I personally find the BADgal BANG! mascara?

[/pipdig_padded_text] [pipdig_padded_text]

I like having big dramatic-looking lashes as part of my everyday makeup. Even though I like to keep my makeup looking quite natural, I find that a good mascara can really help my eyes look bigger and more awake, even on early mornings.

The first thing I noticed was that the formula of the mascara is quite wet, which made me doubt how much I’d like this. However, as soon as I applied my first fresh layer of BADgal BANG! on my lashes, all my doubts melted away – it is incredible! Just one layer provides so much volume, and the mascara is a TRUE black (not a grey-ish black like some other mascaras!). I’ve read some reviews which said that the mascara looked clumpy on their lashes, however personally the mascara looked just fine on me, and as you can see from the photo above, there’s not a clump in sight!

The mascara lasted very well on my lashes throughout the day and I’m looking forward to carry on using this through to the summer months, when a water-resistant mascara is definitely a good idea – especially on hot days or when on holiday! I love using makeup products that you can just apply once at the beginning of the day, and not have to worry about it until you go to remove your makeup in the evening, and this is a great mascara for that.

Compared to the Benefit They’re Real mascara, the BADgal BANG! is definitely more volumising although the They’re Real mascara is ever so slightly more lengthening. But if it’s more dramatic lashes that you’re after, the BADgal BANG! is the way to go! Available online from Benefit.

Have you tried the BADgal BANG! mascara or do you love any of the other Benefit mascaras?

Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+ Mascara | Review

Younique is a brand that I had heard of, however I never had the opportunity to try out any of their products until earlier this month. And now that I have tried out one of their products, I cannot wait to discover more from the brand!

Laura (who is also very lovely!) recently got in touch and asked whether I would be interested in testing out the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+ Mascara. If you know me, you might know that I absolutely love anything that claims to make your lashes look bigger and more volumised, so of course I was very excited to try out the product and see whether it lived up to my expectations ![/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]The Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+ Mascara claims to give your lashes a big boost and increase the volume of your lashes by up to 500%. Basically, it promises big, bold lashes, which is exactly the look that I am after.

Once I received my parcel, I noticed that the mascara comes in a kit containing two products. The first is a Transplanting Gel and the second is a tube of the 3D Fibers. The Transplanting Gel contains ingredients such as Pro-vitamin B5 and Vitamin E which are proven to condition and moisturise the lashes, as well as Chamomile Flower Extract, which is known to provide antioxidant properties. Meanwhile, the 3D Fibers are made from nylon fibres which are smooth and elastic, and help to make your lashes look longer and more volumised.

Application is done in three quick steps. You start by applying the Transplanting Gel to your lashes and immediately apply the 3D Fibers whilst the gel still feels wet on your lashes. You then add one last layer of Transplanting Gel to seal everything into place. You can repeat steps 2 and 3 until you ‘ve reached the desired amount of volume on your lashes.

So, how did I get on? Check out my progress below!

Bare Lashes: As you can see I started out with completely bare lashes – no primer and I didn’t curl my lashes here either.[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]Transplanting Gel Only: I started by applying one layer of the Transplanting Gel, which already exceeded my expectations! As this was designed to work with the 3D Fibers I did not think it would do much to my lashes by itself, but I was pleasantly surprised as this worked a lot better than some of the mascaras I have tried before! This did a great job at lengthening my lashes and helping them look their best before applying the 3D Fibers.[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]Transplating Gel + 3D Fiber Lashes: And this is the finished result! Here I applied one coat of Transplanting Gel, followed by the 3D Fiber Lashes and another coat of the Transplanting Gel – and the result is just amazing! As you can see from the image below, my lashes look super volumised and the effect is similar to one you would get from wearing a set of falsies! I found the 3D Fibers very easy and fuss-free to apply, and although there are 3 steps involved in this, the whole process is surprisingly quick and simple. Apart from adding length and volume to my lashes, the mascara wands also did a great job at curling my lashes so I didn’t need to do this with an eyelash curler either.[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]If you love big, volumised and super long lashes I would highly recommend trying out the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+! Also check out Laura’s Facebook Page for all things beauty – you won’t regret it!

Fresh Spring Makeup in Collaboration with Max Factor

Fresh Spring Makeup

Spring is by far my favourite season! The picnic-perfect weather, the flowers and the pastel colours make spring one of the most colourful times of the year. In order to celebrate, I decided to create a fresh and glowy makeup look, which you can easily recreate this spring.

Today’s post is in collaboration with Max Factor and I will be featuring three of their products which I hadn’t tried before – the Natural Eyebrow Styler, the 2000 Calorie Curl Addict Mascara, and the new Velvet Mattes Lipstick in ‘Nude’.

Fresh Spring Makeup

Max Factor Makeup

The Natural Eyebrow Styler is a clear gel, perfect for achieving groomed eyebrows that stay in place all day. This comes with a twisted wire brush, similar to a mascara wand, which ensures an even application across your entire eyebrow. You can either use this on its own to set your brows in place, or alternatively you can first fill in your brows using an eyebrow pencil or a powder, then apply the clear gel over the top, just like I did here. The formula has been designed to work well either way, so there’s no need to worry about your eyebrow pencil or powder smudging once you apply this. Although this applies quite shiny at first, it dries to a matte finish giving you a completely natural look.

Max Factor Makeup

I’m a big fan of the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, so I was very excited to try out the 2000 Calorie Curl Addict Mascara. My eyelashes are naturally quite long, so I always look for mascaras that can curl my lashes and give them some volume – and this mascara promises both! The first thing I noticed about this mascara is that it has got a rather big, curved brush with dense fibre bristles. I much prefer mascaras with fibre bristles as opposed to plastic wands, so I was super happy about this. Once I applied the mascara I noticed that the curved wand curled my lashes really nicely, and although the mascara added some volume to my eyelashes, it did not make them clumpy – unlike some other mascaras that promise to add volume. This mascara is perfect if you’re after something that will give your lashes some curl and volume, without making them look unnatural.

My final (and favourite) product is the Velvet Mattes Lipstick in ‘Nude’. As you can see from the pictures above, this lipstick is a gorgeous dusky pink-nude shade – literally the perfect spring lipstick shade for everyday! The lipstick feels super creamy and moisturising on the lips and dries to a semi-matte finish. It’s pointed tip also makes it really easy to apply precisely, without the need of a lip liner, and I found that the formula is pretty long lasting on the lips too – even after eating a snack or two! This is definitely a lipstick I plan on reaching for quite a lot this spring. Max Factor will be releasing this lipstick in 7 different shades altogether, including some pink, red and coral shades, which I would highly recommend checking out.

What are your favourite products from Max Factor?

[pipdig_padded_text]The Benefit They’re Real Mascara has been making waves all over the internet ever since its release a few years ago. This mascara has been named ‘the UK’s number 1 bestselling mascara’ and claims to lengthen, volumise, curl and lift your lashes to leave you with a false lash effect. With all of this in mind, I had very high hopes for this mascara – so did it live up to all of its claims?

In a nutshell – YES! Big, dramatic lashes are part of my everyday makeup routine, and this mascara does a pretty amazing job at helping me achieve this. Of all the mascaras I have tested out this year, the Benefit They’re Real mascara definitely tops the list (it even surpasses my beloved Lancome Grandiose mascara!).

The Benefit They’re Real mascara has a large plastic brush with a spiky tip. In theory, this doesn’t sound like it should work, but in actual fact it really does! The brush manages to reach even the tiniest lashes, and coats each individual lash with its jet-black formula. I find that this really separates the lashes with no clumping whatsoever. I also find that it volumises, lengthens and curls my lashes really well and as it claims to do, and helps my lashes look pretty amazing!

What makes me love this mascara even more is just how long-wearing it is. Even after applying this to my lashes in the morning before work, my eye lashes still look as big and bold by the time I get home – with no flaking or smudging involved.

I literally cannot fault this mascara and have nothing but praise for this! My only regret is not getting my hands on it any sooner – this will definitely be a repurchase for me!

Available for £19.50[/pipdig_padded_text]

I’ve always loved Lancome mascaras, particularly the original Lacome Hypnose mascara, which I reviewed on this blog around a year ago.  And after hearing great things about the Lancome Grandiose, I couldn’t wait to try it out!

The Lancome Grandiose mascara is described as a ‘wide-angle fan effect’ mascara and promises to help you achieve open, fanned-out, and full lashes – adding both length and volume.  As I love having dramatic lashes, whatever makeup look I’m going for, this mascara sounded absolutely perfect for me.  What makes this mascara so unique is the Swan-Neck wand, which you can see in the photo above.  The curved wand and high-precision brush were designed by Lancome to help you get as close to the roots of your lashes as possible, and to help you coat every single lash.

I must admit, at first I found the wand quite strange to work with as I’d only ever used normal mascara wands.  However, after using the mascara for a few weeks I found it much easier to work with, and can now see how the curved wand helps you reach every lash, without smudging mascara over your nose (yes, this has happened to me a few times!).

As the name would suggest, the packaging itself is rather grand.  It’s definitely not the most travel-friendly mascara, as it’s pretty huge – almost the same size as my foundation bottle!  However, it looks gorgeous and even contains a 3D rose at the top.

As for the results, I found this mascara to be add lots of volume, without looking clumpy, and fanned-out my lashes quite nicely, creating a false-lash look.  Although I have achieved similar results with drugstore mascaras, such as the L’Oreal False Lash Flutter, the Lancome Grandiose is definitely a more luxurious option – possibly the most luxurious mascara I have ever owned.

The Lancome Grandiose mascara is definitely not cheap, coming in at £24.50.  However, it’s definitely one to consider if you’re looking to treat yourself!

Lancome Hypnose Mascara

Lancome Hypnose Mascara

love a good mascara and am always on the hunt for an even better mascara that will make my lashes look longer and thicker!  Having previously tried the Lancome Hypnose mascara in sample size, I decided to go ahead and buy the full size version back when it was on offer earlier this year (and in fact cost less than the last mascara I reviewed, the L’Oreal Million Lashes!).

So, what did I think of the Lancome Hypnose mascara, and would I choose to re-purchase it at its full price of £22.50?

Having used and loved only drugstore mascaras (particularly Maybelline and L’Oreal) during the past few years, I decided to treat myself to the Lancome Hypnose mascara as I really liked the sample size version of this.

The Lancome Hypnose mascara promises to give six times more volume to your lashes with no clumps and separate lashes while also being smudge proof and feel ultra light.  And this is definitely what it does!  I fould that this mascara, more than any other mascara I have tried, helped me achieve a ‘false lash’ look by (really) lengthening and adding volume to my lashes.  The only mascara which has come close to this in terms of length and volume is Maybelline The Falsies (which I reviewed here).  However, I found that the Lancome Hypnose mascara did not make my lashes feel ‘hard’ like Maybelline The Falsies does when I layer it on.  Instead, this felt my lashes feeling soft, flexible and lovely (not that anyone would feel my lashes anyway!!).  There were no clumps at all, and best of all it lasted all day without flaking AND was easy to remove at the end of the day!

The Lancome Hypnose mascara comes with a bristle brush (I hate plastic brushes!) which really helped distribute the product evenly and well to all my lashes.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara

Although the Lancome Hypnose mascara is quite pricey at £22.50, you really do get what you pay for and I do prefer this to the drugstore alternatives I have tried, particularly due to how much it lengthens my lashes and also because it lasts all day without flaking but is still really easy to remove at the end of the day.  However, if you want to achieve similar effects length/volume-wise, some drugstore mascaras, such as the Maybelline The Falsies (review here) come pretty close to this and I would definitely recommend them too.

Lancome Hypnose mascara is available from John Lewis.

What’s your favourite mascara?  Do you prefer drugstore or high end mascaras?

This year has passed so quick, and I can’t believe it’s already November, with Christmas time just around the corner.  Lately I’ve been thinking of beauty items I’ll be adding to my wishlist this year – And I’ll be sharing these with you today!

1. Yves Saint Laurent Shocking Mascara

If you’ve been following me blog for a while you would know that I love a good mascara and am always looking for one that will give me bigger, longer lashes!  I’ve heard lots of great stuff about the YSL Shocking mascara, and I’m sure you’ll agree that the packaging looks amazing!  Available now from John Lewis.

2. Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’Blushes

This new Christmas product from Benefit has been all over the blogging world lately, and for good reason!  This amazing box contains five different Benefit blushes, one bronzer and one highlight – all of which normally cost around £24 individually.  However, you can get all these products for just £29.50 in the Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O'(Dreams)!  Grab this while stocks last!  Available now from John Lewis.

3. Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in New York Scene

Winter = dry, chapped lips, which also means that lipstick doesn’t look great on my lips!  And that’s where the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain comes in!  Due to its moisturising formula, which contains nourishing Vitamin E, this will leave your lips feeling moisturised and looking glossy!  Also, due to its PureStainTM pigments (don’t ask!), the colour will stay on your lips for much longer than a normal lipgloss.  ‘New York Scene’ is the perfect berry-toned pinky-red for the Christmas season.  Available for £7.99 from

4. Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice

Yep, another blush palette!  I’ve had my eye on this blush palette from Makeup Revolution for so long.  The palette contains 8 shades including a mixture of matte and shimmer blushes, a baked blush and a highlighting powder.  It contains shades which are wearable both during the summer and the winter and is perfect for contouring.  What’s even better is that all of this is available for just £6 from Superdrug!

5. Lush Star of Wonder Gift Box

I’m a huge fan of all the sweet scents in Lush, and if you are too then this may be the perfect gift box for you!  The Star of Wonder gift box contains six limited edition Lush Christmas products; Shoot For The Stars bath bomb, Snow Fairy shower gel, Star Light, Star Bright bath belt, Candy Mountain bubble bar, Sparkler bath bomb and Snow Fairy Sparkle shimmer bar.  And once you’ve used up all your Lush products, the gorgeous, vibrant box will be perfect for storing future Lush purchases or any bits and bobs you want to conceal in a pretty star-shaped box!  This is available for £26.50 from Lush (where else?).

What’s on your Christmas wishlist?

W7 Cosmetics

I was recently sent a package containing 3 products from the W7 Cosmetics range, and today I will be telling you what I thought about the products.

The three items I was sent were; Eye Lust Black Mascara, Perfect Eyes Eyeshadow in ‘Sea of Green’ & a Black Liquid Eyeliner.  This is the look I created using these three products:

W7 Cosmetics

W7 Cosmetics

My favourite out of the three products is without a doubt the Black Liquid Eyeliner.  It has been a while since I’ve used this kind of liquid eyeliner (normally favouring felt tip liners), however I found this liquid eyeliner quite easy to apply.  I believe this is due to it’s rather stiff tip which means you’ve got more control when drawing a line and flick.  Additionally, the eyeliner is soooo pigmented and dries to a shiny finish, which I think looks very pretty, and it lasts all day.  I noticed this as I was removing my makeup in the evening and my eyeliner looked as perfect as when I first applied it.  The Black Liquid Eyeliner is available for just £4.95.

Moving onto the Eye Lust Black Mascara, I must first mention just how much I love the packaging – it is so vibrant and eye catching!  This mascara promises big, bold lashes by volumising and lengthening the lashes.  At first, I was quite surprised by how big the brush was (picture below), however from my experience with using this mascara, it definitely got better after it dried out just a little (such as after having been open for 2-3 weeks).  As you can see in the pictures above, this mascara did add volume, but I was mostly impressed with the length!  I also love just how black this made my lashes.  Eye Lust Black Mascara is available for £4.95.

Finally, the Perfect Eyes Eyeshadow in ‘Sea of Green’ is not a shade I would normally choose to use (I normally prefer sticking to neutral, bronze shades), however I do quite like the effect it gave.  It reminds me of Elsa from Frozen, and I can imagine this being perfect for an Elsa-inspired look!  The texture of the eyeshadow is quite buttery and buildable on the lids – definitely one I will be reaching out for on summer nights out as I think it looks great with black liquid eyeliner and a darker blue colour in the crease.  Perfect Eyes Eyeshadows are available for £3.95.

What W7 Cosmetics product are you most looking forward to trying out?

Tomorrow officially marks the first day of autumn – and so I will be sharing my top 5 beauty must-haves with you!

1. Lancome Grandiose Mascara

One thing I love about the autumn months is that, as the weather starts to cool down, you can get away with wearing more makeup (without having it melt off your face)!  And now is the perfect time to try out Lancome’s newest mascara, the Lancome Grandiose Mascara.  This mascara promises to help you achieve fanned-out, curvy lashes, which is exactly what I look for when choosing a mascara.  Tanya Burr tried this out in one of her latest vlogs, which you can see here, and the results looked amazing!  In fact, Tanya mentioned that she was planning on wearing false lashes that day but then changed her mind as the mascara was so good!  (Also, how gorgeous is the packaging!?)

2. Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm in Two Ton Tomato

As the weather gets colder, it becomes even more important to keep your lips as hydrated as possible.  This prevents them from drying out and getting sore and chapped (not a good look!).  The Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm in Two Ton Tomato is perfect for the autumn as not only does it allow you to wear the glamorous, classic red lip, but it does this whilst also keeping your lips moisturised!

3. Clarins Cream Blush in Rosewood

I love using cream blushes, especially in the autumn/ winter as they are easy to apply, look natural, and add a subtle glow.  The Clarins Cream Blush in Rosewood is a great cream-to-powder blush, and comes in a lovely gold mirrored packaging, making it perfect for travelling.  Also, the dusky rose shade of this blush is the sort of shade I tend to go for – and love wearing – during the colder months, as opposed to wearing more bright, coral shades during the summer.

4. Nars Duo Eyeshadow in South Pacific

Both Chanel and Prada have sported blue lids this season, and the Nars Duo Eyeshadow in South Pacific would be a great product to help you achieve this look!   This eyeshadow duo consists of two shimmery shades – a turquoise and a more silvery powder-blue shade – which is great for adding a pop of colour and brightening up your makeup look in the autumn.  Contrary to what some may think, blue eyeshadow can work with any eye colour – If you’ve got blue eyes, silvery-blues work best (such as Taylor Swift here), if you’ve got green eyes, purple-toned blues can look great (such as Kristen Stewart here) and for brown eyes pretty much any blue shade goes (such as Keira Knightley here).

5. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser

As I mentioned earlier, the colder weather means that lips are more prone to getting dry – and this also applies to the face in general.  I prefer wearing a foundation or tinted mosituriser with a more dewy finish during the colder months as I find that as my skin gets drier, it could definitely do with a bit of brightening up!  The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser provides coverage and also moisturises the face, whilst SPF20 provides sufficient sun protection for the autumn/ winter.

All the products mentioned above are available from John Lewis.  And if you’re looking for more autumnal beauty & fashion inspiration, take a look at the John Lewis Autumn Fashion magazine here.

What is your beauty must-have this autumn?

I have been trying out several L’Oreal products recently, and today I will be reviewing one of their mascaras, the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Waterproof.

I have been using (and loving) Maybelline mascaras for a few years now, however I heard so much great stuff about L’Oreal mascaras & could not wait to give them a try.

Since the summer was coming up, I decided to opt for a waterproof mascara as I wanted my mascara to stay on all day, even on really warm (sweaty) days.  At £10.99, this is one of the more expensive mascaras in the drugstore (as are most L’Oreal mascaras I noticed).  However, I don’t mind paying a little bit extra for a mascara if it does it’s job well as great mascaras makes such a huge difference to any makeup look!  Also, the packaging looks so pretty!

This mascara promises to separate lashes for a fanned-out effect and is made up of both short and long plastic bristles to coat each lash.  Also, thanks to its ‘Excess Wiper’, the wand should have just the right amount of mascara on it each time you apply your mascara in order to prevent clumping.

Although I’m not normally a fan of plastic bristles (I’m looking at you, Maybelline The Rocket) I quite like this one since it has got both short and long bristles.  It really helps to comb through the lashes to distribute the product evenly.  I find that this mascara gives decent length and volume – it is not as dramatic as Maybelline The Falsies, however I think it comes pretty close.  It holds a curl all day and also, thanks to it being waterproof it does not budge all day!

Here are some before & after shots:

Just like most other waterproof mascaras, the worst bit about this mascara is the removal part – however this is not something that some micellar water cannot deal with.

Overall, I think this is a great mascara and I would recommend it!

It’s been ages since I last posted an eye makeup look on my blog.

In my August Favourites I spoke about the L’Oreal False Lash Flutter in Blue Black and how I have been trying to more blue/navy eye makeup this summer, as opposed to my usual black liquid eyeliner/ black mascara combo.

As promised, here is how I have been achieving my Blue Gold eye makeup look throughout the summer!

Step One: I started by applying some Urban Decay Potion Primer.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Step Two: I then used my well loved Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette.  I applied Half Baked, a gorgeous golden broze, all over my eyelid.  I then applied some Smog, a golden brown, on the outer half of my eyelid and Buck, a medium matte brown in the crease of the eye.  I finally applied a little bit of Virgin, a nude satin shade, in the inner corner of my eyes.

L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim

Step Three: I then applied some L’Oreal Superliner Felt Tip Liner in Blue, getting as close to the lash line as possible, and extending outwards slightly to achieve a flick.

L'OREAL False Lash Flutter

Step Four: Finally I applied some L’Oreal False Lash Flutter in Blue Black on my lashes.  As you can see from the first picture, when applied this mascara looks both black and blue, depending on the light – I think it adds a little something special and complements blue liquid eyeliner quite nicely!

I hope you enjoyed my mini tutorial type post!

Let me know what you think of the blue eyeliner/mascara combination.

August 2014 Favourites

It’s been ages since I have posted a Monthly Favourites post – even though they are one of my favourite types of posts to read on other blogs!

So, here are my August 2014 favourites!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation

 1. L’Oreal True Match Foundation

I was a big fan of this foundation a few years ago, but got bored of it after a while (for no apparent reason) and tried out several different foundations since then.  While I was on holiday recently and noticed that I had run out of foundation I came across this in the shop, bought it and re-discovered why I used to love this foundation so much!   The foundation offers medium coverage and blends like a dream.  It leaves a not-too-dewy but not-too-matte finish on the skin, leaving the skin looking very natural and pretty flawless.  It claims to achieve “a beautiful flawless-looking complexion.. your skin only better”, which I agree with!  I will be posting a full review soon.

Barry M Nail Paint 'Bikini'

2. Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint in Bikini

As you may know, I am a huge Barry M Nail Paint fan!  (You can check out my Barry M Nail Paint Collection post here.)  When I came across this in Boots I could not resist the cute packaging and gorgeous summery colour (I have a thing for blue-toned nail polish!)  I recently bought a Topshop bikini which is pretty much identical to this colour, and when I turned over the bottle and realised this nail polish was called ‘Bikini’ I knew it was faith and popped it into my basket!  <3

Boots Cleansing Wipes

3. Boots Essentials Cleansing Wipes in Refreshing Cucumber

I know I probably shouldn’t include cleansing wips in my Monthly Favourites, but sometimes, after arriving home late at night, it just feels like too much to go through your whole cleansing routine, and all you really want to do is hit your pillow and go to sleep.  This tends to happen to me mostly while I’m on holiday and I have found that these particular wipes are pretty great!  They’re very mild, yet effective (by cleansing wipe standards anyway!), they smell fresh and best of all, they only cost £1.50 for 25 wipes (currently on offer for £1)!

L'Oreal False Lash Flutter

4. L’Oreal False Lash Flutter in Blue Black

I was on the hunt for a dark navy mascara this summer, just for a bit of a change from my usual black mascara.  I hadn’t previously tried any of L’Oreal’s mascaras but had heard so many great things about them.  When I came across this mascara in blue black, I could not wait to try it out!  When first applied, the mascara looks pretty much black, however the really nice thing about it is that when you’re out in the sun or the light hits your eyelashes it transforms into a lovely navy colour, and adds a little something special to your eye makeup!  I have been loving teaming this with golden eyeshadow and some black (or navy!) liquid eyeliner.  I shall be posting a full post with this eye makeup look shortly.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

5. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory

This was another re-discovery for me this month!  I loved using this concealer last summer, especially underneath my eyes, however stopped using it for no apparent reason.  This concealer is very creamy, blends nicely, offers decent coverage and has slightly brightening qualities.  While I wouldn’t use this to conceal any blemishes, I find it is perfect for concealing any dark circles underneath my eyes and it does make me look instantly more awake thanks to its brightening effect!

I hope you have enjoyed my August 2014 favourites!

Have you been enjoying any of the same products that I have been this month?!
