Benefit Gimme BrowBenefit Gimme Brow

[pipdig_padded_text]The Benefit Gimme Brow Volumising Eyebrow Gel has been raved about online ever since I started blogging over 3 years ago. However, I always opted for cheaper dupes as I didn’t think that a more high-end eyebrow gel could do anything that a drugstore version couldn’t do. BOY, WAS I WRONG! After getting my hands on a sample of the Benefit Gimme Brow with Glamour Magazine a few months ago, I am totally converted and have already purchased the full-size version as a back up.

Benefit revamped their entire eyebrow collection earlier this year, and this included the Benefit Gimme Brow. The product no longer comes in a cheap-looking transparent plastic tube, but instead it comes in a rather snazzy looking silver tube, which looks a lot more eye-catching and high-end.

The Benefit Gimme Brow is a tinted eyebrow gel which contains tiny microfibres to create fuller looking and more defined brows. What I love most about this is just how quick and easy this is to use – especially in the mornings when I’m getting ready for work in a rush. Essentially, this eyebrow gel allows you to tint, shape, define and set your brows all in one fool-proof step.

Since using this, I have noticed some big differences between the Benefit Gimme Brow and other cheaper alternatives from the drugstore. Firstly, the Benefit Gimme Brow actually makes your eyebrows look a lot fuller as opposed to just tinting them. It also comes with a tiny brush which makes applying this SO much easier. Finally, this is really long-wearing and the product is pretty much still all there when I come to remove my makeup in the evenings – hooray!

The Benefit Gimme Brow is available for £18.50[/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

Highlighting has only really become part of my makeup routine since last autumn. That’s when I discovered the game-changing Topshop Glow Stick, which made highlighting about 10 times easier for highlighting noobs like myself. Since then I have been really into trying out different highlighters and adding a little glow to my skin.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

[pipdig_padded_text]The Benefit Girl Meets Pearl is described as a liquid pearl luminiser for the face.  It contains light-reflecting pigments to give the complexion a natural, dewy glow.  The product also contains raspberry and chamomile extract to soothe the skin, as well as almond seed extract to improve the skin’s firmness and smoothness.

First of all I have to say I absolutely love this highlighter.  It has a liquid consistency, which I thought would make it harder to apply and blend, however it actually makes it super quick and easy to apply, and it blends like a dream.  As you can see from the photos, Girl Meets Pearl is a beautiful golden-pink shade, which, when blended into my skin, gives the most natural pearly glow.  It compliments my fair skin perfectly and I can imagine it looks beautiful on other skin shades too.

Girl Meets Pearl is basically glowy skin in a bottle, and does exactly what it says on the tin.  It’s perfect for anyone looking for a natural-looking highlighter that is quick and easy to apply, to add some radiance this summer.[/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit Sugar Bomb

I’m a huge fan of Benefit blushers, and was thrilled to get my hands on this palette which contained five of Benefit’s best-selling blushers at Christmas.  I couldn’t wait to try out the highly-raved about Coralista and Rockateur blushers, and I must admit I thought Sugarbomb would be the one I reached for the least.  However, over time this particular blusher proved otherwise and has since become the blusher I reach for on a daily basis!

The Sugarbomb blush contains four shades; a cool-toned pink, a warm rose, a peach shade and a lilac-plum colour.  All four shades are slightly – but not overly – shimmery, which I love as it adds a nice glow to my cheeks.  It catches the light so nicely – you can kind of see this in the photo above.

Before I first used Sugarbomb, I wasn’t sure what to expect once I swirled my brush around the four shades and applied it to my cheeks.  And the only way I can describe the resulting effect is that of a natural radiant flush.  It doesn’t look too pink or too peachy on my skin – it’s just the perfect way of adding a natural, glowy pop of colour to the cheeks.  I don’t know how it does it with the four different shades it contains, but it just really, really works and deserves way more recognition!  I also love how the blush complements pretty much any makeup look I have worn with it.

Benefit Sugarbomb is available for £23.50 (and is totally worth the investment!)

Another month has gone by and in less than a month’s time, 2015 will be over!  This means that I’ll soon be putting up a ‘Best of Beauty 2016’ video on my YouTube channel.  However, until then I’ll be sharing with you the products that I have been reaching for the most throughout the month of November!

1. Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo & Conditioner

My first favourite is a new haircare range that I have been trying out from Herbal Essences.  A few years ago Herbal Essences was the only shampoo/conditioner range that I would use, and I remember loving the ‘Hello Hydration‘ range in particular.  Everything I have tried from Herbal Essences smells absolutely amazing and really works.  The ‘Bee Strong’ shampoo and conditioner are great for nourishing and strengthening damaged hair.  They leave my hair feeling really healthy and smelling delicious – just like honey and apricot!

2. Benefit Blushers

I received the Benefit Box O’ Blushes last Christmas and found myself reaching for it loads this month.  I particular love ‘Sugar Bomb’, which gives a really natural glowy finish on the cheeks and ‘Bella Bamba’, which is a gorgeous pink shade (this has sadly been discontinued!).  Although the Box O’ Blushes came out last Christmas, this year Benefit have brought out a similar blush set as part of their Christmas range, which you can find here.

3. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

After having my eye on it for months, I picked this powder up from MAC earlier this year.  This has fast become my all-time favourite powder, and lived up to all my expectations.  It’s mattifying, adds a decent amount of coverage and helps my makeup last a lot longer on my skin.  I normally apply this over my foundation, however you can also wear it on its own as a powder foundation.

4. Dorothy Perkins Cosy Check Blanket Scarf

I featured this Dorothy Perkins blanket scarf in my Cosy Autumn Layers OOTD last month.  This has become a staple piece in my wardrobe as it is just SO warm and cosy!  The scarf looks great with most items in my wardrobe, and I love the black/beige check print.  In addition to this, the scarf also makes a good blanket to wrap up in on trips to the cinema!

What have you been loving this month?

It’s been over a year since I last blogged about my everyday makeup, and I have since then changed a lot of the products that I use on most days.  So, here is my everyday makeup – updated!

The Face.

I tend to go for more natural/neutral make up look on most days.  I start by applying some Benefit The Porefessional over the more oily parts of my face, as I find this helps my makeup last longer throughout the day.  I then apply L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Rose Vanilla all over my face and blend it with my fingers.  This has a medium coverage which is not too dewy and not too matte – it is the perfect in-between!  I don’t tend to use a brush to blend this foundation as due to it’s very liquidy formula, I find it easier to blend with my fingers – and it gives a more natural finish.  I then apply some Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory underneath my eyes – this is perfect for concealing dark circles as it’s quite brightening.  However, for this reason I opt for a different concealer to hide any blemishes – I use the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light for this.  Again, I blend both concealers with my fingers rather than a brush.  I then powder my face using the L’Oreal True Match Powder in Rose Vanilla as this mattifies the skin and adds a little more coverage.  For this I use the Real Techniques Powder Brush (I do use brushes after all!) – I love this brush as it is so soft and fluffy!  I then apply some of the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in 51 on my forehead and cheeks – and anywhere the sun would naturally hit (and yet still fail to give me a tan!).  Finally, I use the Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply some of my favourite blusher, the ELF Baked Blush in Rich Rose (Review here).  I love this blush so much as the colour is so warm and it acts as a 2-in-1 blush and highlight.

The Eyes.

I start by filling in my eyebrows using the Sleek Brow Kit in Light (which I reviewed here).  Then I apply the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original all over my eyelids.  I find that this helps my eyeshadow to last so much longer than it otherwise would without fading or creasing!  I then reach for my MAC Neutrals palette (which you can see here) and pack All That Glitters all over my eyelid.  I then apply Woodwinked on the outer half of my eyelid and blend the two together.  Finally I apply some Charcoal Brown in the crease to add some definition, and blend.  For this I use two brushes; The No7 Eye Colour Brush and the No7 Eyeshadow Blend & Contour Brush, both of which I love!  I then apply the Soap and Glory Supercat Liquid Black Eyeliner Pen (review here) as close to my upper lash line as possible, and add a little flick.  I finish off my eyes by applying lots of mascara – right now I am loving the L’Oreal Million Lashes Volume Excess Waterproof Mascara (review + before/after pics here).

The Lips.

I like to keep my lips as natural as possible and don’t tend to go for bright colours on a regular basis.  At the moment I am loving the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya as it adds some colour, gloss and moisture!

I hope you enjoyed this post!  Let me know if you’d like similar posts ft. different makeup looks.
