3 Benefit Bits I’m Loving | Summer Beauty

It’s no surprise that Benefit is by far one of my favourite beauty brands. Not only do I absolutely love their in-store brow services (read up about my experience of the Benefit Brow Bar here) – but I’m a big fan of many of their products too!

Today I’ll be sharing 3 products that I have been absolutely loving this summer – ones that last long and help you look flawless through the heat.[/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer

Having a long-lasting makeup base in summer is a pretty challenging. However, using the right products can make a huge difference. Throughout the autumn and winter months, I normally use cream concealers. However, the Benefit Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer is pretty much MADE for the warm, summer months. The concealer comes in a compact tub that is perfect for on-the-go touch ups, and more importantly, IT’S WATERPROOF! This offers a medium-sheer coverage, feels lightweight on the skin and is great for concealing dark under-eye circles or blemishes. Pop on some powder over the top and the coverage will last for hours! This is available in 6 different shades.[/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

Whether you’re into big, dramatic lashes or more natural looking ones, the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer is a must-have for the summer. I love big, dramatic lashes all year round and would highly recommend the Benefit BADgal BANG! and the Benefit They’re Real Mascara if you’re into false-looking lashes too. If you prefer natural lashes (with a bit of a boost!) the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer can be worn on its own to add a brown tint and define the lashes. However, when worn underneath a mascara, this further enhances the lashes by increasing the length and volume without clumping up the lashes. Lash primer is one of those products you don’t realise that you need in your makeup routine, until you’ve tried it![/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

I’ve spoken about my love for Benefit brow products countless times on my blog and the product I’m reach for the most at the moment has to be the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. The brow pencil glides on the brows easily, so filling in your brows with this is super quick. It also has a waterproof formula, which is essential for summer and it comes with a built-in spoolie brush, which you can use to soften your brows once you are done filling them in. This comes in 8 different shades, so you’re bound to find one that’s perfect for you![/pipdig_padded_text]

Is Benefit BADgal BANG! Really Out of This World?

By now we’ve all heard about Benefit’s exciting new launch – the BADgal BANG! Mascara. I’m a big fan of Benefit’s previous mascara launches, particularly the They’re Real mascara which is one of my all-time favourite mascaras, so I was looking forward to giving the new BADgal BANG! mascara a go.

Does this mascara really live up to all the hype that has surrounded its launch?

Firstly, can we all agree on just how cool the packaging looks?! Pink, black and with a studded top, the packaging is definitely a WINNER!

The main selling point of the BADgal BANG! mascara is that it promises to give you an impressive 36 hours of full-blast volume. Personally, I wear my mascara for around 8-10 hours a day, but I have seen some YouTubers test out the mascara for a full 36 hours and it seemed to do pretty well, so my expectations for this mascara were high.

The mascara wand is plastic, just like Benefit’s other mascaras. Although I normally prefer a natural bristle brush to a plastic wand, Benefit mascaras seem to be an exception as they somehow work really well with my lashes (naturally quite long but lacking volume). The BADgal BANG! mascara features a new brush by Benefit that contains 300 soft half cone-shaped bristles to maximise the product deposit on each lash, thereby increasing the volume. It also contains aero-particles, one of the lightest known materials that is derived from space technology, in order to avoid weighing the lashes down with the volume.

The formula itself is designed to layer on easily for bigger lashes and is smudge-proof, flake-free and water-resistant so it should well and truly last all day.[/pipdig_padded_text]

So, how did I personally find the BADgal BANG! mascara?

[/pipdig_padded_text] [pipdig_padded_text]

I like having big dramatic-looking lashes as part of my everyday makeup. Even though I like to keep my makeup looking quite natural, I find that a good mascara can really help my eyes look bigger and more awake, even on early mornings.

The first thing I noticed was that the formula of the mascara is quite wet, which made me doubt how much I’d like this. However, as soon as I applied my first fresh layer of BADgal BANG! on my lashes, all my doubts melted away – it is incredible! Just one layer provides so much volume, and the mascara is a TRUE black (not a grey-ish black like some other mascaras!). I’ve read some reviews which said that the mascara looked clumpy on their lashes, however personally the mascara looked just fine on me, and as you can see from the photo above, there’s not a clump in sight!

The mascara lasted very well on my lashes throughout the day and I’m looking forward to carry on using this through to the summer months, when a water-resistant mascara is definitely a good idea – especially on hot days or when on holiday! I love using makeup products that you can just apply once at the beginning of the day, and not have to worry about it until you go to remove your makeup in the evening, and this is a great mascara for that.

Compared to the Benefit They’re Real mascara, the BADgal BANG! is definitely more volumising although the They’re Real mascara is ever so slightly more lengthening. But if it’s more dramatic lashes that you’re after, the BADgal BANG! is the way to go! Available online from Benefit.

Have you tried the BADgal BANG! mascara or do you love any of the other Benefit mascaras?

Inside My Makeup Bag | Five Current Favourites

Although I love trying out new beauty products and discover new gems, there are some makeup items and tools that I just keep reaching for! Today I’ll be taking a look inside my makeup bag and sharing my current favourite items with you.

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (shade NW20) has become the only powder that I ever use. No matter how many other powders I try, I always go back to this one! It is great at setting my makeup in place and helping it last as long as possible throughout the day, but what I love about it most is that it also has some additional coverage that works well over any foundation (or alone) to help me achieve a more smooth and clear complexion. I’ve already got my backup sorted! Read my full reviewAvailable here.

NARS Dual Intensity Blush in ‘Fervor’

This is the first NARS product I had ever tried and it has been my go-to blush since around March last year! The ‘Fervor’ blush comes with two shades – a peach/coral blush and a burgundy blush, both of which have a slight shimmer to them and add a gorgeous glow to the cheeks, without having to add any highlight. Apart from looking gorgeous on the cheeks, both of these blushers last incredibly long throughout the day. Worth every single penny! Read my full reviewAvailable here.

Rubis Switzerland Classic ProGrip Tweezers

Dubbed the ‘Ferrari of tweezers’ by the legendary Bobbi Brown, I knew I should expect great things from the Rubis Switzerland tweezers, and I was not disappointed! These tweezers feel really sturdy and are incredibly precise. They have a great grip and although they cost a bit more than what I would usually pay for a pair of tweezers, they are worth the price! I’d highly recommend these if you’re after a really good pair of tweezers. Available here.[/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumising Eyebrow Gel

I’ve been a big fan of the Benefit Gimme Brow Volumising Eyebrow Gel for years now. It’s just so quick and easy to use, making it perfect for a quick makeup look before work in the morning. Although I prefer using something more ‘heavy duty’ such as the Benefit KA! Brow when I want to achieve a more precise arch in my brows, Gimme Brow is the one I reach for most often. Read my full review. Available here.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Bond Girl’

After falling in love with Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick formula, I had my eye on the shade ‘Bond Girl’ for quite a while – and I was so happy when I finally got my hands on it! It’s the perfect day-to-night shade that’s in between a rose, nude brown and berry shade. Of course, it comes in my favourite Charlotte Tilbury lipstick formulation – Matte Revolution – which doesn’t dry out the lips and lasts really (really) long too! Read my full review. Available here.

Have you tried any of these products yourself?

Benefit Brows at Debenhams | Top Product Picks

When it comes to sorting out my brows, there’s only really one brand that comes to mind – and that’s Benefit. Over the years, Benefit’s brow collection has grown considerably – both in the shops and in my personal makeup collection!

Ever since first trying out the Benefit Brow Bar at Debenhams earlier this year I have relied on Benefit products to sort my brows out – and today I’ll be sharing some of my top picks from the brand.

There are 2 products I rely on when my eyebrows are in serious need of a bit of maintenance – 2 products that will magically transform the messiest of brows into perfect arches (and I’m speaking from experience here!) These are the Benefit KA-Brow followed by the Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder. When my brows haven’t been professionally done in a while, they tend to look a bit shapeless and just meh. The Benefit KA-Brow comes with a super cool in-built angled brush and the product itself is a rich, buildable formula which allows you to fill in, sculpt and define the brows. You can see what my brows look like when using the Benefit KA-Brow on its own in this post. The result is very natural and yet defined.

However, if you want to go one step further to set your brows in place for an even longer lasting result – and one that looks even more natural – the Benefit Foodproof Brow Powder is your gal. The velvety smooth powder comes in light, medium or dark and each one consists of two shades – a slightly darker shade for the inner half of the brow and a lighter shade for the outer half of the brow, helping you to achieve the most natural look possible. This easy-to-use powder looks great when used with the KA-Brow, however it can also be used alone for a more natural (yet still long-lasting) finish.[/pipdig_padded_text]

Although I absolutely love the results achieved when I can spend a bit more time on my brows as part of my makeup routine, there are some days when I’ve only got time for a super quick makeup look in the morning – and for those days, the Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil and Benefit 3D Brow Tones come in very handy indeed! Using the Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil is a super quick way to add some definition to your brows and fill in any sparse areas. This comes with a twist-up pencil on one end, perfect for creating hair-like strokes in your brows, and a spoolie brush on the other side to brush your brows in place (and it’s also great for getting rid of any excess product that you might have applied to your brows!).

Following this, the Benefit 3D Brow Tones is amazing for adding some dimension to your brows and is key to having natural-looking filled in brows in a second. Think of this as adding some natural highlights to your brows! The 3D Brow Tones comes in 2 shades (light/medium and natural/deep) and gives you 12 hours of water-resistant wear, so you can be sure that your brows will be looking perfect throughout the (rainy) days and into the cold evening this festive season!

5 Seriously Underrated Beauty Products You Need

We’ve all heard of those beauty products that are raved about online – the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette, NARS Sheer Glow foundation, Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara… However, there are so many beauty products out there that don’t receive the attention they deserve. Today I’ll be sharing 5 of my favourite products that are seriously underrated.

[/pipdig_padded_text][pipdig_banner image=”http://www.beautyandthebird.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/IMG_6247.jpg”][pipdig_padded_text]

Seriously Underrated Product 1 – Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Highlighter

The Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Highlighter has always been overshadowed by its cream-counterpart, the Watt’s Up Highlighter. This is such a shame as Girl Meets Pearl is one of the most beautiful highlighters that I own yet no one seems to mention it! Girl Meets Pearl comes in a champagne-gold shade that looks beautiful on pale skin and is packed with skin-loving ingredients. It’s really easy to blend and it just gives the most gorgeous natural-looking (yet buildable) glow to the high points of your face. You can see what it looks like applied to my skin in my full review post. The product can also be applied all over the face for an all over glow.

Seriously Underrated Product 2 – Eylure Brow Magician

So much attention is given to Eylure’s (admittedly amazing) eyelash range which means that their eyebrow range is often overlooked. I first came across the Eylure Brow Magician when I collaborated with Eylure on a post back in June and have used and loved the product ever since! The Brow Magician is a dual-ended product with a long-wear crayon on one end and a pigmented brow mascara on the other end. This is absolutely perfect when you’re rushed for time as it’s so quick and easy to shape, define and set your brows in place.

Seriously Underrated Product 3 – Eylure Brow Pomade

Yep, this is another brow product from Eylure which I couldn’t resist including! The Eylure Brow Pomade has been a life-saver (in brow terms) on those days when my brows look a bit messy. The Brow Pomade is waterproof and it’s also really long-lasting, making it great for summer. It comes in 3 shades – blonde, mid-brown and dark-brown and I’ve found that the blonde shade is a perfect match for my brows. For just £8.95, this is definitely worth picking up and shouting about![/pipdig_padded_text]

Seriously Underrated Product 4 – Milani Retouch + Erase Light Lifting Concealer

Milani is a brand that I only discovered earlier this year, and my only wish is that I’d tried their products out sooner! The Retouch + Erase Light Lifting Concealer is seriously one of the best concealers I have ever tried and it’s replaced my trusty old Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer as my everyday go-to concealer. The product has such good coverage so it’s great for covering up any blemishes, but it’s also creamy enough to work well underneath my eyes. I’m yet to try a concealer I love more than this!

Seriously Underrated Product 5 – Topshop Bronzer in ‘Mohawke’

Any fellow fair skinned girls will undoubtedly be familiar with the struggle to find a bronzer that’s pale enough to leave you with a natural bronzed look, as opposed to a muddy-looking mess. The Topshop Bronzer in the shade ‘Mohawke’ is a matte bronzer that blends out really nicely on the skin and leaves even the palest of us looking like bronzed goddesses. You can see it in action in my ‘subtle contour‘ blog post. As with most Topshop Beauty products, this product isn’t always available – Topshop tend to bring lots of their makeup items in and out of stock every few months. However, I’d highly recommend grabbing this when you next see it around!

6 Favourite Makeup Brands | Drugstore & High End Makeup Recommendations

[pipdig_banner image=”http://www.beautyandthebird.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/IMG_6195.jpg”][pipdig_padded_text]

As a beauty blogger, there are many makeup brands that I adore and frequently write about on my blog and social media. So today I thought I would round up 6 of my current go-to makeup brands and share some of my recommendations from each brand.

PS – Let me know what your favourite makeup brands are in the comments section. I’d love your recommendations too![/pipdig_padded_text]

Charlotte Tilbury

Charlotte Tilbury is one of the first high end makeup brands that I bought into, and to this day I still adore the brand! The luxurious rose gold packaging and thought that goes behind every single product released by Charlotte Tilbury makes the brand really stand out. Some of my favourite products from Charlotte Tilbury include the Magic Foundation and Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Amazing Grace’. Although the products are quite pricey, the luxurious feel and fantastic quality makes them worth every single penny. I’ve previously written a post about the best and worst Charlotte Tilbury products, which you might be interested in checking out!

NARS Cosmetics

NARS is a brand that I had been dying to try out for years and I was so happy to get my hands on some of their products earlier this year. Anyone who enjoys reading beauty blogs or watching beauty videos on YouTube would have definitely come across the many positive reviews of NARS products. One of the most highly raved about NARS products is the Sheer Glow Foundation, so I was very excited to try this out for myself – and it has since become one of my favourite ever foundations! It is packed with skin-loving antioxidants and leaves you with the most natural-looking, flawless skin. I am also a huge fan of the Dual Intensity Blush which leave you with glowy, healthy-looking cheeks and the lasting power is the best I ever experienced with a blusher!

L’Oreal is a brand that I have loved and trusted for the longest amount of years. Although it is a high street brand, the quality of their products is frequently comparable to more high end products. I recently wrote about their newly released Hydra Genius Aloe Water, which is my current go-to morning moisturiser. However, it’s not just their skincare which I love – their makeup range is pretty damn good too! Both the Infallible 24 Hour Foundation and the True Match Foundation are two really great drugstore foundations which I would recommend, and no matter how many liquid liners I try, I always go back to the Superliner Perfect Slim, which I can always count on to give me the perfect feline flick.[/pipdig_padded_text]

Rimmel London

Rimmel is another one of my top drugstore makeup brands that I always have in my makeup bag. They are one of the most affordable brands available in the drugstore, and also one of the best! All the foundations that I have tried from Rimmel, including the Wake Me Up Foundation, Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation and Lasting Finish 25 Hour Nude Foundation, are just incredible quality and never let me down! I also love the Rimmel Matte Lipsticks and of course the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is also a great drugstore powder (although I am currently loving the MAC Studio Fix Powder too).

Benefit Cosmetics

Benefit is another brand that I have grown really fond of over the past years. Their super fun, girly and witty branding is on-point, and they are a great brand to look out for if you’re after innovative, great-quality products. Of course, Benefit are mostly known for their impressive eyebrow range (and also their Brow Bar service – which I reviewed here). My favourite products from the range are the KA-BROW! Cream-Gel Colour and the Gimme Brow Volumising Eyebrow Gel which is perfect for super-quick full-looking brows. I am also a huge fan of the Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Highlighter which is a beautiful golden-rose highlighter that you (strangely) almost never hear about online! I rounded up the best and worst Benefit products in a previous post too.

Topshop Beauty

My final favourite makeup brand is one that doesn’t get the recognition it deserves – Topshop Beauty! As Topshop is primarily known for its fashion, you might not think that the makeup range is any good, but it sooooooo is!! I have quite a few Topshop Beauty products in my collection and 99% of the time I am very impressed with how their makeup performs. Check out my previous post for recommendations on the best products from Topshop Beauty. ps – They also do the best bronzer for pale skin, which I reviewed here.

Benefit Brow Bar: Worth It? | My Experience

Beauty blogger confession: I’d never had my eyebrows done professionally. So I decided to finally take the plunge and book an appointment at the Benefit Brow Bar to finally get them sorted!

I must admit, I very nearly chickened out at the very last minute – but I am so so glad I didn’t!

My Benefit Brow Bar experience started online a few weeks earlier when I made an appointment for a brow wax at the Benefit Brow Bar at Debenhams in Manchester. I knew I would be staying in Manchester for a couple of days before my birthday and thought it would be a nice little treat for myself! I love that Benefit give you the option to book an appointment online. The website also had the option to book a brow tint along with the brow wax but I thought I would go easy on myself seeing as it was my first time!

When I arrived at the Benefit counter in Debenhams, I was seated on a chair in a slightly more private corner where the lovely Benefit lady (I didn’t catch her name!) talked me through the whole process. As this was my first time, the lady explained the whole concept of brow mapping, which gives you an idea of the most ideal brow shape for your eye structure. Once the brow mapping was done, it was time for the brow wax!

In my head, I thought that a brow wax would be super painful – oh how wrong I was! All those years I had plucked my own eyebrows I was putting myself through a lot more pain than this brow wax! The brow wax was done by applying a warm wax to the area around my eyebrows, and by applying a cloth over the wax, any unwanted hairs were quickly and relatively painlessly removed. The lady was super professional and quick, and the whole procedure was over within 15 minutes.

I am super pleased with the results and I was also given a free mini Benefit Gimme Brow – which I absolutely love! I will definitely be heading back to the Benefit Brow Bar when my eyebrows next need to be done and I would highly recommend checking them out. Find out where your closest Benefit Brow Bar is here.[/pipdig_padded_text]

3 Cream Highlighters You Need In Your Life

Top 3 Highlighters

I must admit, up until around a year and a half ago, I never bothered with highlighters. I thought they were a bit pointless – and why would you want to look shiny anyway? Oh, how times have changed. Nowadays, highlighter is part of my everyday makeup routine, and I just love how a quick sweep of highlighter can add the most beautiful glow to your skin. Here are the 3 cream highlighters that you need in your life.

Top 3 Highlighters
L-R: Topshop Glow Stick in ‘Play Up’, Benefit Girl Meets Pearl, Topshop Glow Highlighter in ‘Gleam’

Topshop Glow Stick in ‘Play Up’

The Topshop Glow Stick in ‘Play Up’ is the reason I first got into highlighting. This cream-stick highlighter comes in a gorgeous champagne shade and is super easy to use. Simply sweep the stick over the tops of your cheekbones, blend with your fingers and your highlighter is done (and looking amazing!). It only takes a few seconds to apply, works well over powder products and lasts pretty well on the skin too.  Full review here.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl gets nowhere near the amount of attention it deserves in the online world – frequently being surpassed by the Benefit Watt’s Up Cream Highlighter. Girl Meets Pearl is described by Benefit as a ‘liquid pearl luminiser for the face’, and it is beautiful. This comes in a golden-pink shade that is not too golden or too pink – it’s the perfect in-between! It applies really easily, and when blended, this looks really natural on my fair skin. It can also be built up if you want to achieve a more intense highlight. See what it looks like on my skin in my full review.

Topshop Glow Highlighter in ‘Gleam’

Another one from Topshop – can you tell I love their highlighters!? This is one that I had my eye on for ages, and it definitely did not disappoint! The Topshop Glow Highlighter in ‘Gleam’ is more gold-toned than the other highlighters I mentioned above. This one looks particularly lovely on fair-to-medium skin tones, and it compliments slightly more tanned skin really well. Like the other two, this one is really quick and easy to apply, and blends really nicely. Available here.

Spotlight on: Benefit Cosmetics | Best & Worst Products

I’ve been a big fan of Benefit Cosmetics for years now. I just think that most of their products are innovative, exciting and actually really good! Today I’ll be going through some of the products that I love, and the ones that I don’t reach for as often.

Benefit Blush Palette

Benefit are known to do great blushers, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on this blush palette two Christmases ago. Benefit tend to release a blush palette at Christmas time, and they are well-worth keeping an eye out for as you can make some great savings with this palette. My palette contains 5 different blushers and the highly popular Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I’ve got quite fair skin and I find that unless I use a really light hand with the Hoola Bronzer, it can look a bit too dark on my skin. However this would look great on medium skin tones.

Without a doubt, my favourite blusher from this palette is the Benefit Sugarbomb. Admittedly, when I first got this palette I thought that Sugarbomb would be my least used blusher – little did I know! This blusher gives the most gorgeous, radiant and natural-looking flush to my skin. You can see what it looks like on me here. Other blushers in this palette include the Benefit Rockateur, which is a really nice dewy dusky pink shade I reach for during the autumn/winter, the Benefit Coralista, a coral shade perfect for summer, the Benefit Dandelion, which is a light pink shade that can be used either as a blush or as a brightening face powder, and Benefit Bella Bamba, a gorgeous rosy-pink shade that has very sadly been discontinued. Overall, I would highly recommend picking up one of the Benefit blushers as the colour range and formula is great!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

The Benefit They’re Real Mascara has been an incredibly popular mascara ever since it’s release a few years ago, even being awarded the title of ‘the UK’s number 1 bestselling mascara’. I finally tried this mascara for the first time last year and I can confirm that the product is definitely worth all the hype! This mascara lengthens, volumises and curls my lashes really well. I love having big, dramatic lashes and this mascara definitely gives you that! Check out my full review.

Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner

A few years after the release of the They’re Real Mascara, Benefit went on to release the They’re Real Push-Up Liner, a gel liner pen designed to be long-lasting, smudge-proof and easy to apply. This product has divided opinions ever since its release, with people either loving this or hating this. Whilst I don’t hate it, I wouldn’t say that I reach for this very frequently. It is definitely more long-lasting and smudge-proof than my regular liquid liner pen, however I find that the application of this takes a bit longer and most days I just cannot be bothered spending extra time on my liquid liner. However, if you’re after something that’s super long-lasting then it’s worth checking this out.

Benefit They’re Real Big Sexy Eye Kit

The Benefit They’re Real Big Sexy Eye Kit is one of Benefit’s latest releases and one of their most innovative products to date. The palette contains 3 neutral-toned eyeshadows made out of 2 shades each. The idea is that you swipe the ‘duo shadow blender brush’ that comes with the kit straight from the palette onto your eyelids to reveal a ready-contoured eyeshadow look. This does require a quick blend with a fluffy brush once it has been applied to your eyelids, but it’s definitely quicker than applying 2 separate eyeshadows. Check out my full review & see what it looks like once applied in this post.

Benefit KA-BROW!

The Benefit KA-BROW! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Colour is one of my all-time favourite brow products to achieve full and defined brows. The product comes with an angled brush which is actually pretty good and I tend to use this brush every time I use the product. This is perfect for those with sparse brows or brows that lack shape, and it allows you to create natural-looking brows to more defined, dramatic brows, depending on what you prefer. Check out my full review.

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl

The Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Liquid Pearl Luminiser is one of Benefit’s most underrated products. It is a gorgeous liquid champagne-toned highlighter. It is not too pink or too gold and adds a really lovely natural glow to your skin. It’s super easy to blend and can be applied to look as natural or dramatic as you’d like. I’d highly recommend checking this out if you’re after a liquid highlighter. You can see what it looks like on me in this post.

Benefit They’re Real Big Sexy Eye Kit | Review + Demo

Benefit They're Real Big Sexy Eye Kit

Benefit They're Real Big Sexy Eye Kit[pipdig_padded_text]

Ever since the release of the uber-popular Benefit They’re Real Mascara a few years ago, the ‘Benefit They’re Real’ family has grown to include several new makeup items, one of which is the Benefit They’re Real Big Sexy Eye Kit!

As with pretty much all Benefit products, the Benefit They’re Real Big Sexy Eye Kit is an innovative product which I haven’t seen elsewhere before. The kit contains 3 neutral eyeshadows, each of which contains 2 different shades, as well as a ‘They’re Real Duo Shadow Blender’ sponge. The idea is that you simply slide the sponge into your eyeshadow of choice to pick up the product, then apply this straight to your eyes to reveal a ready-contoured eyeshadow look. I love the idea of this, and couldn’t wait to give it a go.

As you can see in the first image below, when you first apply the eyeshadow, it can look quite unblended. However, as you can see in the second image, I was pleased to discover that a quick blend with a fluffy brush – and I mean, 2-second quick – leaves you with a really lovely blended shadow that would normally take a lot more time to achieve. I love that the shadows blend really quickly and easily, and they are also quite nicely pigmented.[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text] As a gold/neutrals eyeshadow lover, the shades in this palette are right up my street. ‘Beyond Nude’ is a light gold and matte medium brown combination that I am wearing in the image above. ‘Naughty Neutral’ is a gorgeous rose gold and taupe combination, whilst ‘Bombshell Brown’ is a light gold and medium-dark brown combination, perfect for a more smokey look. [/pipdig_padded_text]

Benefit They're Real Big Sexy Eye Kit

[pipdig_padded_text] Available for £28.50

What do you think of the Benefit They’re Real Big Sexy Eye Kit?

Check out my review of the Benefit They’re Real Mascara here.

*This post contains PR samples.*[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]Benefit launched an amazing range of brow products earlier this year. The collection includes some already well-loved but re-vamped old favourites, as well as a few completely new products. I recently reviewed the Benefit Gimme Brow, which is one of my favourite beauty discoveries of the year. However, today the focus will be on the new KA-BROW! Eyebrow Cream-Gel Colour.[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]Just like all the other newly launched Benefit brow products, KA-BROW! comes in a really cool silver packaging, which is unlike any other brow product I have ever seen. It is described by Benefit as an “all-in-one eyebrow cream-gel” that is supposed to fill in the brows, sculpt and define them. It offers rich, buildable colour that claims to be waterproof and last for 24 hours.

As I like my eyebrows to look quite natural, I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this product and whether it would instead leave me with false-looking drawn-on eyebrows. However I am very pleased to report that I was VERY wrong, and that the Benefit KA-BROW! is absolutely perfect if you prefer natural-looking brows like I do.

Although not as quick to apply as the Benefit Gimme Brow, the KA-BROW cream-gel is still very easy to apply. It actually comes with an in-built angled brush which you pull out of the lid, and although it is quite small, I have found this to be perfectly fine for applying the product and I know this will come in very handy when travelling too. The product is perfect if you’ve got sparse brows or brows which lack shape, and allows you to build natural-looking to more dramatic brows depending on what you prefer.

The Benefit KA-BROW! comes in 6 different shades, and I was actually sent shade 4 which is a medium-brown. I would normally go for the lightest shade when it comes to brow products as I’ve got quite fair skin. However somehow, shade 4 seems to work perfectly with my complexion and still allows me to achieve natural-looking brows! I have also found this to be incredibly long-lasting and doesn’t budge or smudge all day.

Available for £18.50[/pipdig_padded_text]

[pipdig_padded_text]The Benefit They’re Real Mascara has been making waves all over the internet ever since its release a few years ago. This mascara has been named ‘the UK’s number 1 bestselling mascara’ and claims to lengthen, volumise, curl and lift your lashes to leave you with a false lash effect. With all of this in mind, I had very high hopes for this mascara – so did it live up to all of its claims?

In a nutshell – YES! Big, dramatic lashes are part of my everyday makeup routine, and this mascara does a pretty amazing job at helping me achieve this. Of all the mascaras I have tested out this year, the Benefit They’re Real mascara definitely tops the list (it even surpasses my beloved Lancome Grandiose mascara!).

The Benefit They’re Real mascara has a large plastic brush with a spiky tip. In theory, this doesn’t sound like it should work, but in actual fact it really does! The brush manages to reach even the tiniest lashes, and coats each individual lash with its jet-black formula. I find that this really separates the lashes with no clumping whatsoever. I also find that it volumises, lengthens and curls my lashes really well and as it claims to do, and helps my lashes look pretty amazing!

What makes me love this mascara even more is just how long-wearing it is. Even after applying this to my lashes in the morning before work, my eye lashes still look as big and bold by the time I get home – with no flaking or smudging involved.

I literally cannot fault this mascara and have nothing but praise for this! My only regret is not getting my hands on it any sooner – this will definitely be a repurchase for me!
