5 Best ‘Feel Good’ Films/TV Shows Guaranteed To Make You Smile

I love watching films, however I’m very specific about the films I enjoy watching. I’m a big fan of feel good films! Anything that can make me laugh, turn a bad day into a good day and generally leave me feeling happy.

If you’re a bit like me and you’ve watched the DVDs in your home collection a few too many times, you will love Cinema Paradiso. Cinema Paradiso has an extensive range of over 90,000 DVDs available to rent by post, including all the latest films and TV series. You can choose a subscription plan depending on the number of DVDs you plan to rent, starting from just over £5 a month then browse through all the newest releases for the perfect night in! Here you can find literally anything from world cinema films to documentary films and TV soaps.

My idea of the perfect night in is cosied up under a warm blanket, cup of tea and piece of cake by my side and a good film or TV series playing. Here are my top 5 best feel good films/ TV shows to watch!

1. Bridget Jones’s Baby

This is one of my favourite films of all time – and one that I would happily watch over and over again, and is still guaranteed to make me laugh. I’m a huge fan of all the Bridget Jones films, however this one has to be my favourite. Although Hugh Grant doesn’t play a part in this film (sobsob), Patrick Dempsey more than makes up for this. Everything from the hilarious storyline to the incredible acting and beautiful ending makes this a perfect film to watch if you’re after all the happy vibes!

2. Paddington / Paddington 2

If there was ever a bear guaranteed to put a smile on your face, it’s the incredibly loveable Paddington! I really enjoyed watching both Paddington and Paddington 2. The animation is great and the storyline itself is also really enjoyable no matter how young or old you are. The story lines in both films are quite different to each other, but just as gripping. And of course, everyone loves a happy ending!

3. Letters to Juliet

Another one of those films I could watch over and over again, Letters to Juliet is your classic feel good romantic-without-being-too-cheesy film that leaves you feeling really uplifted! The film is set in Verona, Italy which looks beautiful – and has made me want to visit Verona ever since I first watched the time! Amanda Seyfried plays Sophie, who is such a loveable and relatable character throughout the whole film. This one to watch when you’re after an uplifting romantic film.

4. Gavin and Stacey

Everyone who knows me well knows that I loooooooove Gavin and Stacey (and has probably been forced to sit through watching countless episodes of this with me). Gavin and Stacey is one of those TV series that I like to put on when I want something that’s easy to watch, funny and guaranteed to make me smile. It’s like comfort food, but in TV series form! Sadly there are only 3 series of this to watch, but each 30 minute episode is just so funny! Definitely well worth watching if you haven’t already.

5. Would I Lie To You?

My boyfriend and I are o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d with Would I Lie To You? It’s the TV show that we always put on when we want something that’s easy to watch and funny at the same time. If you’ve never watched this, it’s essentially a comedy panel show hosted by the amazing Rob Brydon, in which contestants on each of two teams are challenged to tell the truth about their most embarrassing moments or make up a lie, whilst the other team has to guess whether they’re saying the truth or telling a lie. Super funny!
