L'Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water

Whilst I’ve got my summer skincare routine sorted in the evenings, I’ve got to admit that my morning skincare routine was pretty much non-existent until recently. My mornings are already quite rushed (blame it on the snooze button!) and trying to squeeze in some extra time to pamper my skin just wouldn’t normally work!

The L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water has been popping up all over my social media feeds throughout the summer and I was really intrigued by this! I love skincare products which contain aloe vera as I find that it’s so soothing on the skin – especially in the summer – and the fact that the product is described as ‘water’ really intrigued me as I’ve never owned any skincare products like this before. The moisturiser comes in three formulas – one for normal-combination skin, one for dry-sensitive skin and the one I went for, designed for normal-dry skin.

The main reason why I would normally skip any kind of skincare in the mornings is because I simply don’t have the time to apply moisturiser and wait for this to sink into my skin before applying my makeup – especially when it’s warm and sticky enough already! However, the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water sounded like something that would feel very lightweight and absorb quickly so I was willing to give this a go – and I’m pleased to report that it did not disappoint!

Apart from Aloe Vera, the product is enriched with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and claims to instantly refresh and hydrate the skin without overloading it. I’ve been using this every morning after cleansing my face using the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Foaming Cleanser and I absolutely love the formula. It’s really light and feels more like a serum than a traditional moisturiser. Once applied, it takes around 30-45 seconds to be completely absorbed and undetectable on the skin, leaving it feeling nicely hydrated. It also makes a really nice makeup base and I’ve noticed my everyday foundation (L’Oreal Infallible Foundation) applies really nicely after using the Hydra Genius moisturiser.

The L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water is available from Boots for £9.99 and I would highly recommend picking it up if you’re after a lightweight moisturiser for the summer.[/pipdig_left]
