It’s fair to say that over the past year I’ve developed a special place in my heart – and makeup bag – for Charlotte Tilbury. I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s very hard to resist the iconic rose gold packaging and the luxuriousness of the products. Today I’ll be talking about the products that are definitely worth investing in as well as the ones that aren’t.
The Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Luxury Eyeshadow Palette was the reason I first heard of the Charlotte Tilbury makeup brand a couple of years ago, and I was thrilled to finally get my hands on this palette last Christmas! This palette is quite pricey at £39, however it is definitely worth every single penny if you’re looking to treat yourself or a fellow makeup-lover. Firstly, the packaging feels so luxe and sleek with a burgundy exterior and a rose gold interior. Secondly, the eyeshadows themselves are beautiful. They are very pigmented and blend really nicely with minimal effort involved! I also love how these four eyeshadows will allow you to create a natural daytime look, and a smokey evening look. A definite must-have. Available here.
The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette was recently released as a limited edition product (and it’s still available here!) The palette costs £49 and it contains 3 eyeshadows, 2 blushers, a bronzer and a highlighter – so you do get quite a few different products in there for the price! This is a great palette if you travel frequently or if you want to try out a few different products from Charlotte Tilbury. The colours in this palette are very pretty and work really well together, as you would expect. You can see my full makeup look using this palette here. Available here.
The Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in ‘Jean’ is a gorgeous champagne cream eyeshadow with a whipped cream consistency – think the Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows but softer. As I wrote in my full product review, this looks just like MAC All That Glitters, which is one of my favourite MAC eyeshadows, but in cream eyeshadow form. The product contains Vitamin E to hydrate the eyes and soft-focus illuminating pigments to smooth over lines and imperfections. As much as I do love this product, I don’t think it’s one that I would recommend unless you’re a huge fan of cream eyeshadows and use them very frequently. This costs £22 and as its a cream eyeshadow, it is recommended to use this for only 6 months once it has been opened. So unless you normally get through a lot of cream eyeshadow then essentially a lot of product will go to waste *sad face*. Available here.
I’d never invested in a high-end foundation prior to the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, however I must say I absolutely love this! I posted a full review here, but essentially this foundation gives a medium-full coverage and has a satin finish which looks really natural on the skin. Unlike other medium-full coverage foundations I have tried, this feels really lightweight on the skin so it’s great if you don’t like the feeling of thick foundation. This foundation is also packed with great skincare ingredients so it kind of doubles up as a skincare product too, and I’ve noticed that with regular use, this leaves my skin feeling really soft which is not something I’d experienced before with a foundation! Definitely one to check out if you’re looking to treat yourself to a high-end foundation. Available here.
If there’s one thing you most definitely need from Charlotte Tilbury, it’s a lipstick (or three!). Each lipstick costs £24, however the quality of these lipsticks is just spot-on. I currently have two lipsticks from the Matte Revolution range, ‘Amazing Grace‘, a rosy pink shade, and ‘The Queen‘, a crown-jewel pink shade. Although they are matte, they are not drying on the lips and actually feel quite nourishing. They are also extremely pigmented and have amazing longevity – they stay on my lips even after I’ve finished off an entire plate of food! I also have one lipstick from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range, ‘Liv It Up‘, a light neutral-cool pink shade with a satin finish, perfect for spring/summer. This feels even more moisturising on the lips than the matte lipsticks, concealing any dry patches you may have and lasts pretty well throughout the day too. The formulas of these lipsticks, along with the gorgeous rose gold packaging makes each one a real treat and a pleasure to wear. Every girl needs a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in their life.
