L'OREAL PURE CLAY DETOX MASK

Face masks are an integral part of my skincare and pamper routine. I normally treat myself to a face mask 1-2 times a week as they can make such a difference to my skin, and they're also a great way to unwind. The new L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks have been receiving a fair amount of praise online, so I decided to get my hands on the L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask to try it out for myself.

SPOILER: This turned out to be one of the most effective face masks I have ever used.

There are 3 masks in the L'Oreal Pure Clay range - the Detox Mask, the Purity Mask, and the Glow Mask. At the moment I've got sensitive, normal-dry skin with a slightly oily t-zone, so I decided to go for the Detox Mask to balance this out. The Detox Mask contains Kaolin, a clay that absorbs impurities and excess oil, Montmorillonite, another clay known to help eliminate skin imperfections, Ghassoul to clarify the skin, and Black Charcoal to draw out impurities.

The mask comes in an expensive-looking glass jar, reminiscent of more high end brands, and the clay itself has quite a creamy consistency. The jar contains 50ml of product, which claims to be enough for 10 applications, however I have used the product a fair few times already and there's enough product for way more than just 10 applications! I normally apply a thin layer of the mask all over my face and wait around 10-15 minutes for it to dry.

Unlike most other clay masks I have tried, although this gets harder as it dries, it doesn't get so hard that moving your face becomes an impossible task. Removing the mask is a lot less messy than other face masks too, and a wet flannel easily does the trick to remove the product from your face. However, what I really love about the face mask is just how effective it is. Upon removing the mask, my skin is left feeling really soft and clear, thoroughly cleansed and rejuvenated. The effects seem to last a few days too - unlike other masks whose effects seem to wear off after about a day. I have also found that since using this mask, my makeup has looked a lot better!

I would highly recommend giving the L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask a go, especially if you're after something that can really get in there to clear and rebalance your skin. At £7.99, it really is worth every single penny.
