Although I love wearing lipstick nowadays, I only really got into wearing lipstick some time last year. Before then, I well and truly underestimated the power of a good lipstick, thinking it was an unnecessary part of most makeup routines – as long as you’ve got your face and eyes sorted, you’re pretty much good to go, right? Wrong.
Since then I have added a substantial number of lipsticks to my makeup collection – you can see some of my current favourites in my recent post. However, there was still a missing component in my lipstick wardrobe – a couple of decent lip liners. Today I’ll be reviewing my most recent lip liner purchase – the Topshop Lip Liner in ‘Beestung’.
I have tried many Topshop Beauty products before and have been impressed by the great majority of them – check out my favourite here. Most of their beauty products are quite well-priced, and this lip liner only costs £5 – not bad at all! It also comes in really cute packaging, which is something that Topshop do really well throughout their entire makeup range.
‘Beestung’ is a gorgeous muted brick-red colour which strikes just the right balance between being bold, but not OTT – my favourite type of lip shade. It’s great if you want to venture into wearing a bold lip, but aren’t quite ready for a full-on bright red shade. It’s one of those shades that would suit most skin tones, and it looks great with my fair skin.
The formula of this is pretty spot-on. It’s creamy, velvety, highly pigmented and not too drying on the lips. It can be worn on its own as a matte lip colour, or as a base underneath a similar-toned 90s-vibe lipstick.
Have you tried any of the Topshop Lip Liners?
