FaceTox is an organic skincare company based in the UK. The FaceTox Mask is a clay mask designed to detoxify your skin using purely natural ingredients, and claims to be particularly suitable for blemish-prone skin. The mask promises to prevent and draw out black heads, unclog pores, reduce the appearance of acne scars, and generally even out the skin tone. However, what made me the most excited to use this mask was the fact that you are actually provided with the ingredients to make the face mask yourself!
The kit contains everything you need to make your own face mask at home, including clay powder, rose water, a small bowl and a spatula. All you need to do is simply pour the clay mixture and organic rose water into the bowl provided and stir this using the spatula until combined. This didn’t take long at all and the mixture was ready to use in about 30 seconds.
The clay and rose water combine to create a rather thick clay mixture, which you then apply to your face and leave it on for 30 minutes. For this reason, this definitely isn’t a face mask you would want to use when you’re in a rush. However, if you’re looking to give your skin a real treat and pamper yourself (and who doesn’t love a good old pamper night!?) – then this is absolutely perfect.
Once applied to your skin, the face mask gradually begins to set and harden slightly on the face. I experienced no stinging whatsoever with this, and found it to be nice and soothing. After 30 minutes I rinsed this off with the help of a face cloth, and patted my skin dry.
I found the face mask left my skin feeling really soft and thoroughly cleansed. It did warn that you might experience some redness after removing the face mask, but I experienced none of this, despite having quite sensitive skin. I did, however need to apply some moisturiser to my skin once I was done with the mask.
Overall I would recommend FaceTox, especially if you’ve got oily, combination or blemish-prone skin.
