5 HIGH END BEAUTY PURCHASES WORTH THE PRICE

5 HIGH END PURCHASES WORTH THE PRICE

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Luminous

Let’s face it, high end products aren’t always worth the hype – and more importantly, the price. Sometimes, no matter how much you research the product before you buy it, you might still be left disappointed as you might find that it’s not the right product for you. For this reason, I tend to stick to drugstore products for most of my makeup – however, I do have a few high-end purchases in my collection which I believe are definitely worth the price!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in ‘Luminous’

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders have received lots of hype online, and at £36, this powder is pretty pricey!  I must admit I don’t think I would have paid the full price for this had I not received a voucher from John Lewis. However, now that I have it in my makeup collection I can see why so many people swear by it. This powder does a great job at setting your makeup in place whilst simultaneously adding a subtle glow to your skin. Read my full review here.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation is one of the first high-end foundations that I’ve owned apart from the MAC Studio Fix Foundation, which sadly I didn’t get along with. The Magic Foundation is quite a Marmite product, which you either love or hate – and I happen to love it! The foundation feels weightless on the skin whilst giving a medium coverage, and lasts well throughout the day. In addition to this, it also has a number of skin-loving ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and SPF 15 to protect against sun damage. Watch this space for a full review coming soon!

Charlotte Tilbury Amazing Grace Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Amazing Grace’

The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in ‘Amazing Grace’ has probably been my favourite beauty purchase this year. ‘Amazing Grace’ is a gorgeous nude-rose shade – the perfect in-between being bright but not too bright. It’s one of those shades that works well both with natural daytime looks as well as more dramatic evening looks.  Apart from this, the formula is spot-on. Although this is a matte lipstick, it’s not drying in the slightest. Instead, it feels very comfortable and lightweight on the lips, even giving them a bit of moisture and lasts for ages!

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Highlighter

The Benefit Girl Meets Pearl Highlighter is a product which surprisingly, I hadn’t heard much about online. This gorgeous liquid highlighter is a beautiful golden-rose shade that looks really natural on the skin. Being a liquid formula, it also blends really easily making it super quick to apply! You can see what it looks like on my skin in this post.

MAC Eyeshadow in ‘Sable’

Although MAC eyeshadows in general are very popular among lots of beauty bloggers, MAC Sable definitely doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. Sable is described by MAC as a “gold-plum with bronze pearl”. To me, this looks like Satin Taupe’s more flattering, warm-toned sister. This is a gorgeous shade, especially if you’ve got green eyes, and it looks lovely worn alone with some black liquid liner. Check out my full review and swatches in this post.
