The Adidas Gazelle first made an appearance in 1966. But when something looks as timeless as this, it’s no surprise that this year, the Gazelle is back with a huge bang to mark its 50th anniversary. Move over, Stan Smiths – it’s time for another classic to steal the limelight!
There’s no denying that I love wearing a good old pair of comfy trainers on occasion. However when trainers feel so comfortable and look this good, I can’t help but want to throw them on with pretty much every single outfit I own. Gazelles were huge in the 1990s, having been backed by a huge campaign featuring Kate Moss. They have since been spotted on virtually every celebrity out there since their re-launch including Alexa Chung, Fearne Cotton and Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and are fast becoming a firm staple in everyone’s AW16 wardrobe.
The Gazelles have a simple suede top with Adidas’ 3 signature stripes down the sides. And it’s this sheer simplicity which has made the Gazelles one of the most highly desirable shoes of the season. The Gazelles are available from Schuh in a range of different colours including black, white, navy, red, grey, green, and pale pink, which is the one I decided to go for. As expected, they are super comfortable thanks to their hidden arch support (something that was missing from Stans!).
As the Gazelles have a suede top, it is recommended to protect them with a shoe protector to keep them looking new for longer.
I am head over heels in love with my pair of Adidas Gazelles and would highly recommend them if you’re looking for a new pair of trainers this season.
Will you be picking up a pair of Gazelles?
