MY FIRST EVER CHARLOTTE TILBURY PURCHASE

26 July 2016

Charlotte Tilbury
.
Charlotte Tilbury is one of those brands which I've admired from afar for a pretty long time.  The gorgeous rose gold packaging together with the hundreds of amazing reviews I read about her products online meant that I was bound to splash out on a few of her products sometime soon!

After spending a considerable amount of time on the Charlotte Tilbury counter at John Lewis in Liverpool, swatching all the different products, I finally settled on two products.

The first product I picked up is the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation.  I've read mixed reviews about this foundation, however after trying it out on the back of my hand (very technical, I know) I decided to give it a go.  The Magic Foundation is described as an anti-ageing, full coverage foundation that feels weightless on the skin.  I have tried the foundation out a few times so far and it definitely lives up to its 'weightless texture' claims as it feels so light on the skin - perfect if you don't like the feel of normal foundation on your skin.  I find this to give me more of a medium coverage than full coverage, however you can build it up on the areas of your face which need more coverage without it looking cakey.

The second product I purchased is the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in 'Liv It Up'.  This is a new shade which Charlotte released as part of the Hot Lips collection earlier this month, inspired by 12 different celebrities from Nicole Kidman to Sienna Miller.  'Liv It Up' is a slightly blue-toned dusky pink shade, inspired by Liv Tyler. Blue-toned lipsticks aren't usually my thing, however this is only slightly blue-toned, and compliments my fair skin tone really nicely.  It's a really fun, playful and easy-to-wear shade for the summer and I have already been getting a lot of use out of it. You can see what it looks like on me here.

I will be posting a full review for both of these products in the next few weeks, so watch this space!
