Today’s post is a little bit different to my usual beauty/fashion post, and it’s one that’s been a long time coming. Basically, last month I finally graduated with a Masters in Occupational Psychology! Woohoo!
Back in October 2013 – just a few months after starting this blog – I began studying for my degree. I enrolled with Birkbeck College, which forms part of the University of London and decided to study by distance learning. Although this was very hard at times, it taught me some valuable lessons such as how to manage my time well, set my own deadlines and motivate myself to get things done.
Graduation day finally arrived last April, and luckily it was a beautiful, sunny day in London! Also, walking round London wearing my graduation gown and hat is an experience I will never forget – it felt a bit like being in Harry Potter and there was such a good, positive vibe in the air!
For my makeup, I decided to go for my natural everyday makeup, which you can see in my recent video, with MAC All That Glitters and Woodwinked on my eyes, some black liquid liner and one of my favourite lipsticks, the KIKO Velvet Mat Lipstick in the shade ‘Strawberry Pink’ – which lasted pretty well on my lips!
I searched high and low for the perfect dress for graduation day, and in the end I decided to go for this cute vintage style dress from Dahlia (currently on sale on ASOS). The dress was super comfortable, kept me cool in the warm ceremony hall – and I think it looked quite pretty in the pictures too!
I hope you enjoyed this post. I’d love to know if you’re at uni or have just graduated 🙂
