I have been a huge fan of the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer for a couple of years now – although thinking back, I’d never actually mentioned it on my blog! However, I came across the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye concealer in Boots a couple of months ago, and thought I would give it a go after having heard so many great things about this product.
The Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye concealer promises to erase dark circles as well as reduce puffiness and the appearance of fine lines. The concealer boasts a super-concentrated formula which contains goji berry and collagen, both known for their anti-aging properties. Although I have only just turned 24 earlier this month, I’m all for using ageing products as I believe it’s never too early to start preventing any signs of ageing.
There aren’t many concealers in the drugstore with the sponge applicator as seen here, so I was looking forward to testing it out. I did find this quite strange to start with, and wasn’t sure whether I loved or hated it. Having used this for a couple of months now, I feel alright about it although I must say I would prefer it to have a doe-foot applicator as it somehow seems more hygienic. Nevertheless, the sponge applicator works well with the formula and makes applying the product easy.
The formula itself is creamy and blends out very easily. I would prefer the concealer to have a tiny bit more coverage though as it only has a medium coverage. However, this works perfectly fine on most days – I tend to reach for a more pigmented formula on days when I have serious lack of sleep! Due to the sponge applicator, I tend to only use this under my eyes and avoid using it to cover up any blemishes.
Overall, I like this concealer – it’s nice to mix things up and try out new products. However, I will probably go back to using my trusty Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer again once I’ve used this up!
