If I could choose just one makeup item to
wear, it would definitely be liquid liner. As my eyes are naturally quite
small, liquid liner can transform my eyes from looking tired
to looking super awake. It also helps make my lashes look fuller and
enhances the shape of my eyes. So when I recently went on a weekend away and
discovered that I had forgotten to pack any liquid liner, I went to the nearest
pharmacy and picked one up. I decided to go for the Maxfactor Masterpiece
High Precision Liquid Eyeliner.
I previously reviewed the L’Oreal Superliner Perfect Slim, L’Oreal Superliner Black Lacquer Waterproof and Soap & Glory Supercat Liner. I hadn’t
previously tried or heard much about any of the eyeliners from Maxfactor,
however I picked this up on a whim and hoped for the best!
The first thing I noticed about the
Maxfactor Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Liner is that it doesn’t have the usual pointed tip which eyeliners normally
have. I wasn’t expecting this and was slightly apprehensive about whether
I would be able to achieve my everyday look with this – especially not
after years of trying to master liquid liner with a normal tip! However,
Maxfactor claim that the paddle-shaped tip gives you more precision and allows
you to draw both a thin or a thick line, depending on the look you’re going
I must admit, the first time I tried this
eyeliner, it didn’t go too well and I couldn’t seem to get the line to not look
so thick and bold. However, by the 4th or 5th time I started to get the
hang of it and things got a whole lot easier! I have now been using this
for around a month, and have started to find this easier than applying a
classic tip eyeliner. I don’t normally go for a super thin or super thick
line for my everyday look – it’s more of an medium-thickness as you can see in the photo above,
and I find this eyeliner perfect for applying liner of this thickness.
In addition to this, the liner has an intensely pigmented, velvet-black finish which dries quite quickly and does not budge all day. It is by far one of the longest-lasting liquid liners I have tried. I also love the fact that it dries matte, which looks gorgeous especially when you’re wearing a shimmery eyeshadow.
What’s the best liquid liner you have tried?
