I haven't always appreciated the importance of wearing lip liner underneath your lipstick. In fact, up until a few months ago I didn't see any point in wearing it at all. However I recently came across the Essence stand at my local supermarket and decided to pick up the Essence Lip Liner in '06 Satin Mauve' on a whim to give it a try and see if wearing lip liner actually makes any difference.
In my opinion, Essence is such an underrated brand as the quality is very impressive especially considering the price of their products - the lip liner cost just £1! I previously tried out some of the Essence nail polishes which I was really impressed with, and I've also heard great things about their foundations, lipsticks and mascaras, so I was expecting good things from this lip liner.
The Essence Lip Liner in '06 Satin Mauve' is a beautiful nude-pink-mauve shade. It is very similar in colour to MAC Brave, which is one of my most-worn lipsticks from MAC. I have been trying out this lip liner with the MAC Brave by lining and filling in my lips before applying the lipstick, and I have definitely noticed a difference in how long the lipstick lasts on my lips! The lip liner acts as a great base for my lipstick and it also helps my lips to look more full and defined.
Although the lip liner isn't very creamy, I found that it doesn't really dry my lips and I have also been wearing it on its own as it's such a pretty and easy-to-wear shade!
So far I have been really impressed with the quality of this lip liner by Essence and I will definitely be giving more products from the brand a try!
