Adidas Stan Smith

Following my shoe clear-out a couple of months ago, I have been pretty much living in my chelsea boots, UGG boots and Primark plimsolls.  Whilst I love all of these, I became increasingly aware that there has been something missing from my shoe collection for the past few months – a pair of white trainers.

The fact that I have not owned a pair of trainers in quite some time probably shows that I haven’t been to the gym in a while!  However, contrary to what I would have previously thought, a pair of trainers can make an outfit look great both inside and outside the gym – they are a great way of adding a casual and effortless twist to any outfit.  So with that in mind I headed to Schuh to see what was on offer – and I left with a beautiful pair of Adidas Stan Smith trainers!

Adidas Stan Smith trainers are a timeless classic and have been around since 1963.  They are named after the former No. 1 tennis player – you guessed it – Stan Smith.  Although the trainers had been on sale for a good number of years, Adidas decided pulled their Stan Smith trainers off the shelves in 2012, and re-launched them in 2014 when they suddenly became THE trainers you need to own! They have since been spotted on various celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Gwen Stefani, Kendall Jenner and David Beckham.

Admittedly, I wasn’t aware of all this when I bought these shoes – I was simply drawn to their simple, classic design, with a pop of bright colour.  I have since worn these pretty much anywhere I could get away with wearing them!  I had forgotten how easy white trainers are to style – there are so many different ways to wear them.  I have been loving wearing mine with rolled up jeans and cute lace trim socks, however I’m looking forward to experimenting and styling them with smarter trousers, dresses, and skirts!

The Adidas Stan Smith trainers are available from Schuh.

What’s your favourite way of styling trainers?
