Like many others, I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect foundation.  Many have come close, however there’s always something that I wish I could change about my foundation.  For the past few months I have been alternating between my KIKO Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation and the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25Hr Nude Foundation.  And although I love using both foundations, I have been reaching for the latter much more frequently, and I feel as though I have made considerable progress working towards ‘my perfect foundation’.

Around this time last year I spoke about the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25Hr Foundation, which has got an almost-identical name.  However, the Nude version which I am speaking about today is the more hydrating of the two, and offers a medium, rather than full coverage.  As I tend to suffer from dry skin during the cold months, I picked this up from Boots a few months ago, just to try it out – and I’m already on my second bottle!

The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25Hr Nude Foundation claims to offer a medium coverage, as opposed to the other version of this foundation.  However, I would say that this does provide me with a medium-full coverage and is quite buildable too.  It’ great if you’re looking for something with a bit more coverage, which still offers some hydration.  This foundation leaves a lovely, natural satin finish on the skin once blended in, which I much prefer to the matte finish that its non-Nude counterpart.

As the name would suggest, the foundation does last pretty well on my skin.  I would normally apply this and powder using the MAC Studio Fix Powder in the morning – and the foundation still looks pretty all right by the time I get home after work.  Pretty impressive for a drugstore foundation!

The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25Hr Nude Foundation is available from Boots for £7.99 – and is currently on offer for just £5.99.  I’ll definitely be getting myself a backup bottle of this foundation!
