A few weeks ago I visited Italy, and to my delight there was a KIKO store just next to the hotel I was staying at! You can see all the items that I picked up in my recent Huge Kiko Haul post if you’re interested.
Since then, I’ve been trying out all of my newly purchased products and so far, I have loved most of them. However, one of my favourite products (and the one I was most looking forward to trying out) is the KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in ’05 Rosy Brown’.
KIKO is an Italian drugstore brand, known for their affordable yet really high quality makeup. And after having read so many rave reviews about their products, I really was surprised by the prices! In fact, the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow was just €4.90! They are slightly more expensive in the UK at £6.90.
The Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow are described as having a creamy formula, which is easy to blend. Once the eyeshadow is set, KIKO claim this to last 8 hours without budging, and they also claim this to be waterproof. Having read all of this, as well as various blogger reviews, I decided to pick up two shades; ’05 Rosy Brown’, a rose-taupe shade, and ’06 Golden Brown’, which is a gold-bronze shade.
’05 Rosy Brown’ is said to be a dupe for the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Shadow Stick in ’05 Misty Rock’, which costs £29 – and judging from the various swatches online, it does look pretty identical!
However, aside from looking super pretty, what I really love about this shadow stick is the formula. It is just so easy and quick to apply this eyeshadow – it’s perfect for when you’re in a rush or just can’t be bothered spending ages applying your makeup. By simply colouring in the lid (messily) with the eyeshadow stick, then blending out the edges using your fingers – you’re good to go! I recently tested this out when travelling and have found it to live up to its 8 hour claim. There was no creasing whatsoever, and it only started to fade after around 10-12 hours of wear, which is amazing!
I also really love the packaging this comes in. It is sleek and sturdy, which makes it perfect for packing in your travel makeup bag. It also shows the eyeshadow shade on the bottom of the packaging, making it easy to pick the right product when looking through your makeup bag.
I would highly recommend this product if you’re passing by a KIKO store!
