I've always enjoyed creating and customising things - it's a fun and cheaper way of getting hands on the things you'd like.  Last year, I had my eye on some daisy-trim shorts denim shorts from Boohoo, and although I was very tempted to purchase them, the shorts were a little bit too short.

Fast forward to earlier this year, when I wore my favourite black jeans to work, and they decided to rip in a rather unfortunate place - right underneath my bum.  I was ready to throw them straight into the bin as soon as I got home, but then I realised that I could actually make them work by turning them into my dream shorts!

Read on to find out how I turned my embarrassing torn jeans into these pretty daisy-trim shorts.

What I used:
  • 1 pair of jeans
  • Embroidered daisy trim - You can get this really cheap on eBay.  Just search for 'daisy trim' or click here.
  • Black thread
  • Yellow thread
  • Needle
  • Scissors

What I did:
  1. I started by cutting the jeans shorter with a pair of scissors.  I would suggest cutting them just above the knee to start with, depending on how short you want your shorts to be.  As my jeans were ripped just under the bum area I had to work with that!
  2. I then turned up the jeans from the bottom and using the black string I sewed it into place.
  3. I then measured out how many daisies were needed to cover the pockets and using some yellow string I sewed these into place.

What do you think of these daisy-trim shorts?  Let me know if you decide to have a go at these yourself!
