I love autumn – the cosy nights in, scented candles, hot chocolate! Bring it on! Earlier this week I wrote all about my everyday makeup for autumn. And today I’ll be sharing my favourite autumn nail colours with you.
I think bright nail colours can be worn all year round, not just in spring and summer. In fact, I will definitely be painting my nails in some of my favourite spring nail shades throughout the colder months. However, as autumn has just started I am keen to embrace all the classic autumn-y shades!
Barry M Nail Paint in ‘Raspberry’ practically screams AUTUMN! This is one that I always reach for during the autumn months. ‘Raspberry’ is a burgundy shade, with a hint of pink – a fun, vampy and sophisticated shade. This goes on super smoothly, and just one coat of this nail polish is enough to achieve an opaque coverage. However, I always prefer to apply two coats as I find it lasts longer. This dries reasonably quickly and lasts quite long on my nails.
This is one of my favourite nail polish colours in my collection – it looks magical! ‘Aurora’ is described on the Topshop website as ‘bronze’, however it is so much more than that, and changes depending on the lighting. It looks golden bronze in some light, and changes to a dark green/blue in other light. This looks particularly pretty in the sunshine! You can see what it looks like on my nails here. Be warned: You will be straight on the Topshop website after seeing how magical it looks on!
Another one of my favourites, I couldn’t possibly not include ‘Blackberry’ in my top 3 polishes for autumn! The nail polishes from the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine range have such an amazing formula. They are super shiny and very long lasting on the nails. One coat of this on the nails results in a completely opaque finish, and the dark blue (almost bordering on black) shade is such an interesting shade and looks gorgeous!
