Having normal-to-combination and sensitive skin makes it’s a bit of a struggle to find the perfect moisturiser. Rich moisturisers are normally a bit too much for my skin and can leave me feeling greasy. So with this in mind, and the fact that the weather is getting warmer as we’re heading towards the summer, I wanted to try a moisturiser that was light in texture but still did the job. And so I decided to try out The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet is described as providing “an instant cooling sensation for all day hydration”. It promises to hydrate, refresh and quench the skin with all the moisture it needs. All this sounded like the perfect summer moisturiser for me, however what really drew me to the product is the ‘sorbet’ texture of the moisturiser. The texture is described as an “ultra-light” formula, which I definitely agree with, and also contains thousands of microscopic hydrating aqua spheres to provide ultimate hydration!
As I spend most of my days (and nights) in an airconditioned environment, my skin needs all the moisture it can get, so I could not wait to try this moisturiser out. When I first applied the moisturiser I noticed an instant hit of freshness on my skin which feels amazingly refreshing after being out in the warm weather. Another thing I instantly noticed is the scent. It’s pretty hard to describe but reminds me slightly of strawberry sorbet. Personally, I love the scent and it does linger for a while. However, this may not be to everyone’s taste so definitely have a little sniff of the tester on your next trip to The Body Shop.
Most importantly, I have found that using this moisturiser has eliminated any dry patches that I had due to the airconditioning. It also leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and is a great base for makeup. I will definitely be reaching for this moisturiser in the coming summer months!
