I pretty much wear liquid liner every single day, and have been for the past few years. By applying a stroke of black liquid liner on top of my upper lashes and adding a little wing at the edges, my eyes look bigger and more awake. You can see how I do this in my Everyday Makeup post from last September.
However, although I find applying liquid liner quick and easy, and love the effect it gives, I have been trying out a softer look this spring, which you may have noticed in my recent Spring makeup post.
Achieving this soft spring look is really quick and easy. The only products I needed to use were the Urban Decay Naked Palette, the Lancome Hypnose mascara and 3 eye brushes; a small flat brush, a blending brush and a small angled brush.
I started out by applying Sin, a shimmery light pink shade from the Naked Palette, all over my eyelid using the small flat brush, then applied Toasted, a warm bronze shade, on the outer half of my eyelid to add some definition, and underneath my lower lashes. I then used the blending brush to apply Buck, a matte medium brown shade in my crease. Since I was going for a soft look there was no need to be too precise – which makes applying the eyeshadows really easy!
In order to create the liner effect – without using any liner – I dipped the small angled brush into Creep, a shimmery black shade, and applied this as close to my upper lash line as possible. I did this all along my upper lashes and added a flick at the outer corner of my eye, just like I would normally do with liquid liner. Finally I applied some Lancome Hypnose mascara on my upper lashes – and I was done!
Do you prefer the striking, bold effect of liquid liner or would you rather go for a softer look?
