I love wearing dresses all year round, however the autumn calls for a slightly warmer dress that could be worn with a pair of cosy black (or colorful!) tights and some brogues or boots. Dresses with collars are perfect for this time of year as they provide extra warmth whilst also looking cute! Although I purchased this dress last year, Forever 21 have got a very similar one out this year, which you can see here!
Another essential of mine when the weather starts getting cooler is a cosy scarf! Tartan was huge last autumn/ winter and I am still loving it! A tartan scarf can spice up any plain outfit and give the impression that you made more of an effort than you actually have. Also, you don’t have to stick to the traditional red and green pattern – tartan comes in lots of different colors, such as the purple and yellow one I picked up. Zara and Forever 21 have a range of similar scarves available here and here.
A new season also calls for a new perfume! I love the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir for autumn time! It consists of fruity top notes of berries and juicy mandarin, middle notes of honeysuckle, jasmine and gardenia and delicious bottom notes of caramel, vanilla, amber and sandalwood. In other words, it smells amazing! Also, the bottle looks gorgeous on my dressing table. Viva La Juicy Noir is available from the Juicy Couture website here.
As the weather starts getting colder around this time of year, I find that my lips start getting drier and therefore a good lip moisturiser or lip balm is necessary. My favourite lip moisturiser this year, and a recent discovery of mine is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant (I posted a review about this here). I love applying this to my lips before going to bed as I always wake up with really soft lips the next day! Although I have only ever found the lip protectant tin I own on sale in airports, the lip protectant stick is available from various stores, including Amazon here.
Finally, there’s nothing quite like snuggling up under a warm blanket accompanied by a good book as the weather starts to get colder. I am just about to start reading ‘The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris’ by one of my favorite authors, Jenny Colgan. Jenny’s books are always so heartwarming and just lovely. Best of all, although this book is a novel, it also includes lots of delicious chocolate recipes you can try out for yourself. ‘The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris’ is available on Amazon here.
