Tomorrow officially marks the first day of autumn – and so I will be sharing my top 5 beauty must-haves with you!
1. Lancome Grandiose Mascara
One thing I love about the autumn months is that, as the weather starts to cool down, you can get away with wearing more makeup (without having it melt off your face)! And now is the perfect time to try out Lancome’s newest mascara, the Lancome Grandiose Mascara. This mascara promises to help you achieve fanned-out, curvy lashes, which is exactly what I look for when choosing a mascara. Tanya Burr tried this out in one of her latest vlogs, which you can see here, and the results looked amazing! In fact, Tanya mentioned that she was planning on wearing false lashes that day but then changed her mind as the mascara was so good! (Also, how gorgeous is the packaging!?)
As the weather gets colder, it becomes even more important to keep your lips as hydrated as possible. This prevents them from drying out and getting sore and chapped (not a good look!). The Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balm in Two Ton Tomato is perfect for the autumn as not only does it allow you to wear the glamorous, classic red lip, but it does this whilst also keeping your lips moisturised!
I love using cream blushes, especially in the autumn/ winter as they are easy to apply, look natural, and add a subtle glow. The Clarins Cream Blush in Rosewood is a great cream-to-powder blush, and comes in a lovely gold mirrored packaging, making it perfect for travelling. Also, the dusky rose shade of this blush is the sort of shade I tend to go for – and love wearing – during the colder months, as opposed to wearing more bright, coral shades during the summer.
Both Chanel and Prada have sported blue lids this season, and the Nars Duo Eyeshadow in South Pacific would be a great product to help you achieve this look! This eyeshadow duo consists of two shimmery shades – a turquoise and a more silvery powder-blue shade – which is great for adding a pop of colour and brightening up your makeup look in the autumn. Contrary to what some may think, blue eyeshadow can work with any eye colour – If you’ve got blue eyes, silvery-blues work best (such as Taylor Swift here), if you’ve got green eyes, purple-toned blues can look great (such as Kristen Stewart here) and for brown eyes pretty much any blue shade goes (such as Keira Knightley here).
As I mentioned earlier, the colder weather means that lips are more prone to getting dry – and this also applies to the face in general. I prefer wearing a foundation or tinted mosituriser with a more dewy finish during the colder months as I find that as my skin gets drier, it could definitely do with a bit of brightening up! The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser provides coverage and also moisturises the face, whilst SPF20 provides sufficient sun protection for the autumn/ winter.
