Soap & Glory have definitely been one of my favourite brands throughout the past year, and so on a recent trip to Boots I decided to purchase and re-purchase some of my favourite Soap & Glory products (3 FOR 2 I LOVE YOU).
And here is what I bought!
1. Clean On Me Shower Gel
I initially picked up a large 500ml bottle of Clean On Me a few months ago and INSTANTLY fell in love! It smells absolutely gorgeous – I am guilty of randomly sniffing the shower gel throughout the day just cos I love it so much. Clean On Me smells like the rest of the Original Pink fragrance products by Soap & Glory (definitely my favourite Soap & Glory fragrance) and has a built-in body lotion, which although would not replace a body lotion or body butter, does leave my skin feeling nice and soft. A giant 500ml bottle costs £6, which might seem kind of pricey for a shower gel, however a little goes a long way with this product as it lathers up so easily and my bottle that I’ve had open (and have been using everyday) since August is only half empty – wahey! I also picked up the mini 75ml bottle, which cost £2.50, for a short holiday and have been very impressed with how long that has lasted too.
The Righteous Butter Body Lotion also boasts the Original Pink scent and so I decided to try this out to moisturise and make the scent last longer on my skin. And I love it! I have used this a few times now and have been impressed by how soft my skin felt after applying it as well as the lack of greasiness! This lotion sinks into my skin in just a few minutes, and so I did not have to stand there, naked for hours, waiting for it to be absorbed. The Righteous Butter Body Lotion cost £10 for 500ml, but I’m pretty sure this will last for quite some time even if I use it everyday.
Although I purchased the 500ml bottle of The Righteous Butter Body Lotion, I also wanted to try out The Righteous Butter Body Butter to see whether there was any major difference between them, and whether, perhaps, I liked this one better! I bought the mini 50ml tub for £2.50. I immediately noticed that the body butter has a thicker consistency than the body lotion (which I think is also quite thick for a lotion) and is also slightly more scented. I found that once applied to the skin, it did take slightly longer than the body lotion to be absorbed, however it did not take too long either! Which one would I repurchase? I’m not sure! Although I prefer the body lotion for daily use, I do prefer the stronger scent and thicker consistency of the body butter for use about once or twice a week.
I had heard and read so much amazing stuff about Sugar Crush on blogs and could not wait to try this out! Like everyone else says, Sugar Crush does smell rather yummy! However, (UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT?) I don’t think this is the best scent by Soap & Glory *cough* ORIGINAL PINK *cough*. I have used the body scrub once so far so cannot give a very in-depth review about this yet, but I did find that my legs felt nice and soft after using this and that the softness did last a few days! I will obviously carry on using this and post a full review when I have used it for a while. This costs £8 for 500ml and I do have a sneaky feeling that I will repurchase it!
I love using products from the same product line, to layer up the scent and so I decided to purchase the Sugar Crush body wash to go with the body scrub! I have enjoyed using this body wash, although I did not find it to be as creamy as Clean On Me although I do think that this would make a better morning-shower-type shower gel due to its fresh, lime scent. A large 500ml bottle of this costs £6.50, but just like the Clean On Me bottle, I think this will last for ages!
I have been on the hunt for a fake tan which does not smell (or look) like fake tan for ages, and when I saw that One Night Tanned (hehe!) has got a ‘coconutty fresh scent’ I had to give it a go! I have used this a couple of times now and I do actually quite like it! One Night Tanned has got a lovely ‘buttergel’ consistency (mmmmm) which is not too thick and not too runny and although I have quite pale skin, the tan looks quite natural! The product is advertised as a ‘wash-off’ type fake tan and so I was concerned that it would start to wash off and look streaky in hot, sweaty weather but I was pleased to see that it did not budge until I got into the shower – score! At £8 for 150ml it is a bit pricey, however I have been pleased with the product so far.
Lastly, I purchased a product from Soap & Glory’s newly designed skincare range. I would like to start off by saying WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO THE PACKAGING? I am a firm believer of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’ and I thought the previous cute, vintage packaging was so pretty – In fact it was a gorgeous bottle of Peaches and Clean that first attracted me to Soap & Glory! The new packaging does not reflect the fun packaging of the bath/body products, which is SUCH a shame!
Also, I previously purchased and reviewed (here!) Peaches and Clean when it was a 4-in-1 cleanser, rather than 3-in-1, and the bottle held 400ml of product, rather than 300ml (for the same price of £8!). I have used this a few times now and have noticed that there may also have been a slight change in the formula, as this has started to sting a bit on my skin. It did, however, leave my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed and quite soft after use. Unfortunately, due to the stinging & less value for money I will probably not repurchase this.
I hope you enjoyed my haul and mini reviews!
