Welcome to my first ever Monthly Favourites blogpost – this time for the warm summer month of August!

1. Soap & Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel

This is going to sound kinda weird, but I have been really enjoying my showers this month!  This is partly due to the fact that the weather has been warm so I really couldn’t wait to jump into the shower and cool down at the end of each day, and also due to finally discovering this baby!  I read so many positive reviews about this shower gel on other blogs, so I could not wait to try it out for myself, and when I did – I fell in love!  It smells so (sooooo) lovely & it’s got built-in body lotion too.  Although it did cost £6 from Boots, I’m pretty sure that it’s going to last for ages (it’s also on 3 for 2 along with other Soap & Glory products at Boots).

 2. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser

This was the first moisturiser I purchased years ago when I first started moisturising my face!  However, as sometimes happens, I forgot about it for a good few years, only to rediscover it and start re-loving it once again!  Like all Simple products, this moisturiser is ideal for sensitive skin and is perfume-free.  It also feels really light on the skin, and really moisturising – perfect for the warmer months when a heavy moisturiser feels like a bit too much.  Also, this is available for just £3.79 from Boots – really good value for anyone looking for a simple, no-fuss brilliant moisturiser!

3. Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

Being a rather fair girl who does not tan easily I find that wearing a bronzer is pretty much essential, especially in the summer months when most people around me get a lovely natural summery glow.  This product helps me achieve a lovely bronze glow, without looking artificial and I’m sure you won’t need me to tell you that this bronzer smells absolutely divine and good enough to eat!  This is available for £7.99 from Boots, and I got the shade ’51’ for light-medium skin tones.  If you’ve got medium-dark skin I’d recommend using shade ’52’ for medium-dark skin tones.

4. Sleek Blush in ‘926 Rose Gold’

I’d heard so much about Sleek blushes and decided to pop along to Superdrug and try one out this month!  I previously owned just one Sleek product, that is the Sleek i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Storm’ and was really impressed with the quality of that – and the blush didn’t let me down!  Rose Gold is a gorgeous pink/peachy colour, with a gold shimmer which looks lovely when blended into the cheeks.  For just £4.49 from Boots, the pigmentation is really impressive and the blush comes in a sturdy and rather sophisticated-looking case along with a mirror.  Together with the bronzer mentioned above, this helps me achieve a lovely glowy summery look!  I will be posting a review for this blush in the upcoming weeks.

5. Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in ‘Greenberry’

I’m sure that most of you have already tried, or atleast heard about the famous Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints!  They claim to achieve a glossy, gel-like finish, which is chip-resistant for just £3.99 (but currently on offer for Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Price at Boots!).  I recently reviewed the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in ‘Blackberry’, which you can check out here.  However, I feel that ‘Greenberry’ is a much more summery colour as it is a lot brighter, and well, summery!  I have worn this bright pastel green nail polish a lot during the past month and I’m actually going to miss wearing it in the autumn/winter months!

6. Primark Home ‘Raspberry & Papaya’ Scented Candle

I have really got into lighting scented candles in my room this year and have loved having this in my room this month!  Primark scented candles are such good value for money, as this only cost £2 and claims to last around 25 hours.  It has got quite a strong sweet scent, which is gorgeous and fruity!  If you are familiar with MAOAM sweets, I would say that this smells exactly like the raspberry flavoured ones – delicious!

And that’s the end of my first ever monthly favourites blog post!

What have you been loving this month?  Which of my August favourites have you tried?
